Disney Adventure Debuts First-Ever Castle at Sea

Disney Parks shared a reel Thursday highlighting the Storybook Castle aboard the Disney Adventure, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship now sailing from Singapore.

The castle stands three decks tall inside Disney Imagination Garden, the ship’s central gathering space. It marks the first physical Disney castle ever built for a cruise ship. Walt Disney Imagineering drew from the iconic castles at Disney parks around the world, translating them into a layered paper cut-out style that resembles a pop-up storybook.

The facade is built around an ocean theme, with wave patterns framing the structure and rich blues running throughout. At the center sits the Disney family crest, a detail shared by every Disney Parks castle. Three stained-glass panels sit above it, each representing a Disney princess: Moana, Rapunzel from Tangled, and Elsa from Frozen.

A waterfall at the base of the castle mirrors the opening sequence of the Walt Disney Pictures logo. Imagineers also worked in a number of Easter eggs, including a hidden Mickey.

The Disney Adventure departed Singapore on its maiden voyage on March 10, 2026. The ship is the eighth in the Disney Cruise Line fleet and the first to sail in Asia. Joe Schott, President of Disney Signature Experiences, described the Disney Adventure as a brand ambassador for the fleet’s global expansion.

More than 90 percent of guests booked on the Disney Adventure are sailing Disney Cruise Line for the first time. Most are also new to cruising entirely.

Beyond the castle, the ship features seven themed neighborhoods: Disney Imagination Garden, Marvel Landing, Toy Story Place, Disney Discovery Reef, San Fransokyo Street, Town Square, and Wayfinder Bay. Marvel Landing includes the Ironcycle Test Run, Disney Cruise Line’s first roller coaster at sea, with an 820-foot track running up to 30 feet above the upper deck.

The Disney Cruise Line fleet is set to grow to 13 ships by 2031, with five currently in development.
