Walt Disney World announced a $1.3 million investment for education programs across Central Florida as the resort prepares for Cool KIDS’ SUMMER.
Disney said the support will benefit all five local school districts in Orange, Osceola, Lake, Polk, and Seminole counties. The donation also supports nonprofit and arts education partners, including Elevate Orlando, A Gift for Teaching, the Orlando Philharmonic Young People’s Concert, and Disney Musicals in Schools through the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
The Disney Parks Blog said the funding is aimed at opportunities in STEM, literacy programs, arts education, and more. The announcement was paired with visits to local elementary schools, where Walt Disney World brought a preview of the GoofyCore fun coming to EPCOT during Cool KIDS’ SUMMER.
Disney visits Central Florida schools
According to Disney, kindergarten and pre-K students at local elementary schools were treated to activities tied to GoofyCore, with the Goof Troop dropping in to help Goofy get things moving.
After students went home, Disney invited teachers, administrators, and school staff to stay for games and a thank-you moment. Each educator received tickets to visit Walt Disney World with their families.
Cool KIDS’ SUMMER dates
Cool KIDS’ SUMMER runs at Walt Disney World from May 26 through September 8, 2026. Disney describes the seasonal event as a mix of playful moments, family activities, and new or returning summer offerings across the resort.
The education announcement is focused on Central Florida community support rather than a public ticket discount. Disney did not announce a broader ticket sale as part of this school visit update.
For park guests, the key takeaway is that Cool KIDS’ SUMMER now has another officially confirmed piece of its rollout: GoofyCore at EPCOT is part of the school preview Disney highlighted before the event begins.
Disney has been steadily filling out its summer calendar for Walt Disney World, including Disney Springs entertainment and family-focused park programming. This latest update keeps the focus on local schools while tying the community investment back to the resort’s upcoming summer push.
