The official Star Wars and Disney Parks Instagram post shows Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, Dave Filoni, and Jon Favreau watching the debut of the projection. Disney’s caption describes “The Curious Child” as a limited-time nighttime projection featuring Grogu’s memories in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland.

What is “The Curious Child” at Disneyland?

“The Curious Child” is a limited-time nighttime projection at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland park that features Grogu recalling memories from adventures with The Mandalorian. Disney says the projection plays after “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga” and uses the Batuu spires near the Millennium Falcon as its canvas.

According to Disney Parks Blog, the projection began Saturday, May 16, 2026, as part of Disney’s park-wide celebration for Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. Disney has not announced an ending date for the limited-time offering.

The show is tied directly to the upcoming film, which Disney lists for theatrical and IMAX release on Friday, May 22, 2026. That makes the projection one of Disneyland’s most visible park additions for the movie’s opening week.

Where guests can see it

Guests can see “The Curious Child” in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland park after “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga.” Disney says the nighttime projection effects transform the spires of Batuu near the Millennium Falcon, so the experience is centered around the land’s main Falcon area.

The projection is not a separate ride or a new permanent attraction. It is a limited-time nighttime entertainment offering layered into the existing Galaxy’s Edge environment.

Disney’s video frames the debut as a celebrity preview moment, with Pascal, Weaver, Filoni, and Favreau watching from inside the land. Pascal plays Din Djarin in The Mandalorian, while Filoni and Favreau are key creative figures behind the franchise’s recent Disney+ era.

How it connects to the wider Mando and Grogu push

The projection is part of Disney’s broader The Mandalorian and Grogu rollout across Disney Parks. Disney Parks Blog also lists new food, merchandise, PhotoPass Magic Shots, character sightings, and a new Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run storyline launching Friday, May 22, 2026, at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort.

That Smugglers Run update is separate from “The Curious Child,” but both are built around the same movie release. Theme Park Shark previously covered Disney’s Razor Crest mission briefing for Smugglers Run and the new Mandalorian and Grogu food menus at Disney World and Disneyland.

For Disneyland guests, the biggest practical note is timing. If you want to catch Grogu’s projection, plan to be in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge after dark and check the Disneyland app or entertainment schedule for that night’s operations.
