Sony Pictures released the official English trailer for Ramayana on August 5. Nitesh Tiwari directs the film, which reaches theatres worldwide November 6.
The 235-second English trailer is embedded above. Ranbir Kapoor plays Rama, Yash plays Ravana, and Sai Pallavi plays Sita.
The cast
Ravie Dubey joins the lead cast as Lakshman, while Sunny Deol plays Hanuman. The film is Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana, and Shridhar Raghavan and Nitesh Tiwari adapted the screenplay.
The music
Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman composed the music, with lyrics by Kumar Vishwas. Hiral Viradia and A.R. Ameen are credited as music supervisors and editors.
The official credits also name Rangapriya on solo violin, Rishab Rikhiram Sharma on sitar, and Rakshita Suresh as the singer of the Shloka. Arjun Chandy conducted the chorus, Suresh Permal mixed the music, and Prashanth Venkat, Shubham Bhat, and Sidharth Narayanan handled additional programming.
The production
Prime Focus Studios presents the film in association with Monster Mind Creations, which also co-produced it. Sony Pictures Entertainment handles global distribution, T-Series handles the music, and DNEG created the visual effects. The official credits identify DNEG as an eight-time Academy Award winner.
Ramayana was filmed for IMAX. Its confirmed theatrical release is November 6 worldwide.
