Star Wars has a DIY Halloween pumpkin craft inspired by the Amani from The Mandalorian and Grogu. Place a small red LED light inside the finished pumpkin to add an eerie glow.

The activities require adult supervision.
Amanaman, an Amani, appears in the shadows of Jabba’s Palace in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Other Amani warriors featured in an unproduced arc of The Clone Wars, clashing with Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi on Utapau. In Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, the creatures pursue the Clan of Two.
What do you need?
The project uses a medium-sized black craft pumpkin as its base. Gather these supplies:

- Medium-sized black craft pumpkin
- Pencil
- Craft knife
- Black acrylic paint
- Paint brush
- Brown modeling clay
- Modeling paste
- White acrylic paint
- Tacky white glue
- Brown acrylic paint in various shades
- Yellow and green acrylic paint
- Hot glue gun
- Silicone or non-stick plastic mat
- Iridescent adhesive vinyl
- Scissors
- Red LED light
Shape, paint, and light the Amani
Start by sketching half-circle eyes and a mouth on the pumpkin, then carefully cut out those shapes with the craft knife. If the pumpkin’s interior is white, paint the cut edges black and let them dry.

Build a large frill from modeling clay around the stem and down the pumpkin’s sides. Clay tools can add texture and detail to this part of the creature’s face.

Roll more clay and press it around the openings to form the lips, brows, and eyes. Once the clay dries, fill any gaps or cracks with modeling paste.

For the teeth, shape small clay cones and let them dry before gluing them inside the mouth. Paint them white, then lightly add brown or gray paint for a more natural appearance.

Add facial wrinkles by rolling clay into very thin worms and pressing them onto the face. Next, paint the entire pumpkin dark brown and let it dry completely. Use lighter browns to build depth and detail, with touches of yellow and green.

The eyes start as hot glue. Squeeze it onto the silicone mat in two coin shapes, each slightly larger than its corresponding eye opening. Let both eyes cool completely.

Cut two small circles from the iridescent adhesive vinyl and attach them to the cooled glue shapes. Glue the finished eyes over the openings, then roll and press clay around them to form the lids.
Place a small red LED light inside the finished pumpkin for an eerie glow.

For a friendlier Amanaman version, use bright yellow and green paint instead, and leave off the sharp teeth.
