Captain Cacao is officially stepping out for guests at Universal Epic Universe.
Universal Orlando Resort announced on May 18, 2026, that Captain Cacao has arrived and will be available to meet guests in Celestial Park starting May 22, 2026. Universal said character appearances are subject to change.
The announcement gives Epic Universe an original-character meet-and-greet tied to Celestial Park. Captain Cacao is connected to Moonship Chocolates & Celestial Sweets, the candy shop inside the park’s central world.
Universal has described Captain Cacao as part of the original story created for Celestial Park. In Universal’s backstory, Captain Cacao travels with Maya of the Skies aboard the Marshmallow Airship Joei de Ganache, a moonship tied to the lore of Moonship Chocolates & Celestial Sweets.
In a Discover Universal article published August 13, 2025, Universal said the character was developed by Universal Creative Design with Universal Products & Experiences. The same article described Captain Cacao as a dark chocolate teddy bear with a white chocolate star over one eye, an orange and gold shoulder sash, and a blue hat.
That character design appears in Epic Universe merchandise. Universal’s 2025 article said Captain Cacao products included a plush, backpack, and bucket hat exclusive to Moonship Chocolates & Celestial Sweets.
Universal has not listed exact daily appearance times in the announcement, so guests should check the Universal Orlando app or in-park entertainment information before planning around the meet-and-greet.
For guests who already treat Moonship Chocolates & Celestial Sweets as a Celestial Park stop, Captain Cacao’s arrival gives the shop’s lore a bigger in-park presence. The meet-and-greet is expected to take place in Celestial Park, the world between worlds at Epic Universe.
Because the announcement names Celestial Park rather than a specific storefront or courtyard, the exact appearance location may vary by day. Universal’s note that character appearances are subject to change is important for guests planning a visit around Captain Cacao.
