ESPN8: The Ocho returns to Walt Disney World on Friday, August 7, and getting in doesn’t cost a thing. Admission and parking at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex are both free for a day of competition that includes throwing an inflatable donkey at a target.
This is year two for The Ocho at Walt Disney World, and the 10th anniversary of the event itself. Ten live sporting events run across the day, mixing returning favorites with three new additions.
What events are at ESPN8: The Ocho this year?
The new ones are Donk Toss, Roofball, and the Housekeeping Games. Donk Toss tests accuracy with that inflatable donkey. Roofball began as a backyard game, and players score by tossing a ball onto a rooftop and placing their shots strategically. The Housekeeping Games take the skills hotel housekeepers use every day and turn them into a contest of speed, precision, and teamwork.
Yes, competitive housekeeping. That’s a real sport now.
Returning events include Slippery Stairs, where competitors climb an extremely slick staircase while battling gravity and each other, and Combat Archery, which is part archery and part dodgeball with foam-tipped arrows. USA Dodgeball, the Big League Wiffle Ball World Series, the Popdarts Championship, and the Pop-A-Shot National Championship round out the field. Many of the competitions will also air across ESPN platforms.
What time does The Ocho start on August 7?
The first event, the 2026 Big League Wiffle Ball World Series, starts at 10:00 a.m. Donk Toss follows at 11:00 a.m., then Turf Wars Adult Kickball at noon. Things pick back up at 2:00 p.m. with the Roofball U.S. Open and run straight through to 9:00 p.m., with Slippery Stairs: Primetime Chaos Tour closing the night.
How do you get to ESPN Wide World of Sports?
Parking at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is complimentary, and guests staying on property can grab a ride through the Lyft app with Minnie Van Service. Once you’re on site, the Fan Zones have limited Ocho merchandise, photo ops, and a chance to try some of the games yourself.
The whole thing takes its name from the fictional ESPN8 channel in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. A decade in, it’s become one of ESPN’s summer traditions.
