Disney has always had a close relationship with sports, from the ESPN Wide World of Sports property at Walt Disney World to special guests from the Detroit Tigers visiting Baby Bakso at his new home in the Kilimanjaro Safari earlier this year, and even the defunct NBA Experience at Disney Springs, the partnership between Disney and Sports has always been a strong one. You never need to search for long to find some involvement with some of America’s favorite pastimes. Take, for instance, the Savannah Bananas – a barnstorming baseball team based out of Savannah, Georgia.
Barnstorming, a form of exhibition sports that’s been around since the 50s, allows a higher level of showmanship, tricks, and sometimes even comedic performances to take place within the realm of sports, made famous by teams like the Harlem Globetrotters, who take their slapstick basketball routine on tour.
Now, the famed baseball team, the Savannnah Bananas, are getting a day all their own at Disneyland Resort in California. On May 28th, 2025, Disneyland Resort will be offering a one-day-only experience featuring special entertainment moments, themed food and beverages, and all the Savannah Banana fun you can handle!
“This is the perfect collab for The Bananas. When you’re at Disney you can be whoever you want. It’s a place that (as corny as this sounds) can unlock the magic for you. And we’re so excited to help bring that magic to Anaheim!” Says Savannah Bananas Second Baseman (and Greatest Showman) Jackson Olson.
This visit comes just in time to help kick off all of the festivities happening at Disneyland Resort for it’s landmark 70th birthday celebration, and right before their road games vs. the Firefighters at Angel Stadium on May 30th-31st, 2025.
For guests lucky enough to be at Disneyland Resort on May 28th, seeing the Savannah Bananas and all their shenanigans is easy! All you have to do is pick a spot along Main Street, U.S.A. to see your favorite players in a special procession. You can also join the Bananas for a special dance number of “Hey Baby” in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle – all of this amid special themed treats, like the Banana Split at the Gibson Ice Cream Parlor or the Banana Pudding at the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree.
Over at Disney California Adventure Park, guests can find the Banoffee Pie Cold Brew at the Cappuccino Cart of the Banana Split Churro near Goofy’s Sky School.
And if a single day of Banana antics aren’t enough for you, worry not! Disney+ has you covered, with eleven games scheduled on ESPN, EPSN 2, Disney+ and ESPN+

If you’re ready to go bananas for the Savannah Bananas at Disneyland Resort later this month, be sure to remember that guests visiting Disneyland will need both a valid theme park ticket and a reservation to Disneyland park. Reservations are limited and subject to availability, so be sure to lock in your reservation for May 28th as soon as you can!
You can check out Disneyland’s official page, [here] to get your tickets and check availability for reservations!
Check back soon, as Theme Park Shark will continue to report on all of the a-peeling shenanigans going on at Disneyland Resort, as well as theme park news from Disney, Universal, and theme parks from all across the world!
