Planning a Walt Disney World trip in 2026? With over 50 rides spread across four theme parks, knowing which attractions are worth your precious vacation time — and which ones you can skip — is essential. We’ve ranked every single ride at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom from worst to best, based on ride quality, theming, popularity, and overall guest experience.
Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned passholder, this is your definitive guide to every ride at Walt Disney World in 2026. Let’s count them down.
Note: A few attractions are temporarily closed for refurbishment as of February 2026. We’ve still ranked them based on their experience when operating, and noted their closure status. DINOSAUR at Animal Kingdom permanently closed on February 2, 2026 and is not included in these rankings — it’s being replaced by an Indiana Jones attraction as part of the new Tropical Americas land.
How We Ranked Every Walt Disney World Ride
Our rankings are based on a combination of factors: ride technology and innovation, theming and immersion, re-rideability, guest satisfaction scores, wait time demand, and how the attraction holds up compared to modern standards. We also factored in general consensus from the theme park community — these rankings reflect what most guests agree on, not personal hot takes. Rides are grouped into four tiers: Skip It, Worth a Ride, Don’t Miss, and Best of the Best.
These rides aren’t necessarily bad — they’re at Walt Disney World, after all — but they’re the ones most guests can skip without missing much, especially if time is limited.
🔴 Skip It Tier
#53 — Wildlife Express Train (Animal Kingdom)
This open-air train transports guests from Africa to Rafiki’s Planet Watch and back. It’s essentially transportation with some backstage views of the animal facilities. Unless you’re specifically visiting Rafiki’s Planet Watch with kids, there’s little reason to ride.
#52 — Magic Carpets of Aladdin (Magic Kingdom)
A Dumbo-style spinner in Adventureland themed to Aladdin, where guests ride magic carpets up, down, and around a central genie lamp. It’s essentially a re-skin of a carnival ride with a Disney overlay. Fine for very young children, but most guests walk right past it.
#51 — Astro Orbiter (Magic Kingdom)
Perched atop the Tomorrowland PeopleMover platform, Astro Orbiter is a rocket-ship spinner that offers decent views of Tomorrowland. The problem is the painfully slow loading process — guests must take a tiny elevator up and down, creating long waits for a 90-second ride. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze.
#50 — Swiss Family Treehouse (Magic Kingdom)
Technically a walkthrough attraction, the Swiss Family Treehouse lets guests climb through the elaborate treehouse from the 1960 film Swiss Family Robinson. It’s a pleasant enough diversion with nice views of Adventureland, but it requires climbing a lot of stairs and isn’t much of a “ride.” Most guests skip it.
#49 — Prince Charming Regal Carrousel (Magic Kingdom)
A beautifully maintained classic carousel in the heart of Fantasyland. Each of the hand-painted horses is unique, and it’s a lovely photo opportunity. But as far as ride experiences go, it’s a standard carousel — charming for a quick spin with toddlers, easy to skip otherwise.
#48 — Tomorrowland Speedway (Magic Kingdom)
Kids love driving these gas-powered cars along a guided track, and it’s a rite of passage for many young visitors. But for adults, the exhaust fumes, slow speeds, and dated feel make this one of Magic Kingdom’s weakest attractions. It takes up a massive footprint that many fans wish would be reimagined.
#47 — The Barnstormer (Magic Kingdom)
This pint-sized roller coaster in Fantasyland is themed around The Great Goofini’s stunt show. It’s a solid “first coaster” for small children, clocking in at about one minute. For anyone over the age of seven, it’s over before it begins and not worth a significant wait.
#46 — Alien Swirling Saucers (Hollywood Studios)
Located in Toy Story Land, this whip-style ride has guests spinning in toy flying saucers while the little green aliens try to capture you with “The Claw.” The theming is cute and the lighting effects are fun at night, but the ride itself is short and mild. It’s the weakest attraction in Toy Story Land.
#45 — Mad Tea Party (Magic Kingdom)
The classic spinning teacups ride, themed to the Mad Hatter’s tea party from Alice in Wonderland. You control how fast you spin, which is great for competitive families. It’s a timeless flat ride, but it doesn’t offer much beyond the novelty of spinning until you’re dizzy.
#44 — Dumbo the Flying Elephant (Magic Kingdom)
An iconic Disney ride and a rite of passage for first-timers. Guests soar in Dumbo-shaped vehicles around a central hub, controlling their height. The interactive queue area with a playground is a nice touch. However, the ride itself is extremely short and simple — its ranking reflects the experience, not its cultural significance.
#43 — The Seas with Nemo & Friends (EPCOT)
This gentle clamshell ride takes guests through an animated retelling of Finding Nemo before depositing them in front of one of the world’s largest aquariums. The ride portion is fine but unremarkable — the real attraction is the aquarium itself. Worth doing if there’s no wait, easy to skip otherwise.
#42 — Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid (Magic Kingdom)
⚠️ Closing February 11, 2026 for refurbishment.
This omnimover dark ride in Fantasyland retells the story of The Little Mermaid with animatronics and special effects. The “Under the Sea” scene is genuinely beautiful, but the ride rushes through the story and the overall experience feels underwhelming. A decent air-conditioned escape, but not a must-do.
#41 — Enchanted Tales with Belle (Magic Kingdom)
More of an interactive show than a traditional ride, Enchanted Tales with Belle takes guests through a magical wardrobe into Beast’s castle, where they help Belle retell her story. The animatronic Lumiere is impressive and kids love being part of the show. It’s charming but requires a significant time commitment for what it is.
These attractions are solid Disney experiences that are worth your time if the wait is reasonable. You won’t regret riding them, but they probably shouldn’t be your top priorities on a busy day.
🟡 Worth a Ride Tier
#40 — Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros (EPCOT)
Hidden inside the Mexico Pavilion’s pyramid, this gentle boat ride follows Donald Duck through scenes of Mexico alongside José Carioca and Panchito. It’s breezy, air-conditioned, and rarely has a long wait. Not a destination attraction, but a pleasant surprise for those who discover it.
#39 — Journey into Imagination with Figment (EPCOT)
Figment the dragon has a cult following, and this quirky ride through the Imagination Institute lets the purple dragon wreak havoc on your senses. The current version of the ride is widely considered a downgrade from the beloved original, but Figment himself remains an EPCOT icon. Ride it for the dragon, temper your expectations for everything else.
#38 — Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor (Magic Kingdom)
An interactive comedy show in Tomorrowland where animated Monsters, Inc. characters perform live comedy — including jokes texted in by the audience. The improv-style humor is genuinely funny and no two shows are the same. It’s a show rather than a ride, but it’s entertaining and a great way to cool off.
#37 — Mickey’s PhilharMagic (Magic Kingdom)
This 3D film in Fantasyland sends Donald Duck tumbling through classic Disney musical numbers, from Be Our Guest to I Just Can’t Wait to Be King. The 4D effects (water, scents) add fun surprises. It’s a great air-conditioned break and genuinely enjoyable, though it’s a show rather than a ride.
#36 — Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin (Magic Kingdom)
Guests board spinning vehicles and use onboard laser cannons to blast targets throughout Emperor Zurg’s fortress. The competitive element makes it highly re-rideable — everyone wants to beat their high score. The ride system and visuals are showing their age compared to Toy Story Mania, but it’s still a fun interactive experience.
#35 — The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (Magic Kingdom)
A gentle dark ride through the Hundred Acre Wood, featuring Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and friends. The “Heffalumps and Woozles” dream sequence is trippy and fun. It’s a sweet, low-key ride that’s perfect for families with young children, though it doesn’t offer much for thrill-seekers.
#34 — “it’s a small world” (Magic Kingdom)
Love it or dread it, this boat ride through hundreds of Audio-Animatronic dolls representing cultures from around the world is a Disney Parks icon. The song will lodge itself in your brain for days. It’s a must-do at least once for the cultural significance alone, and the air conditioning doesn’t hurt either.
#33 — Walt Disney World Railroad (Magic Kingdom)
This grand circle tour around Magic Kingdom aboard authentic steam-powered trains is a relaxing way to get between lands. The 20-minute loop offers backstage glimpses and a peaceful break from the crowds. It’s transportation and attraction rolled into one, and a beloved Walt Disney tradition.
#32 — Living with the Land (EPCOT)
This boat ride through EPCOT’s greenhouses showcases real agricultural innovations, from hydroponic farming to fish production. It’s genuinely educational and surprisingly fascinating — you’ll see plants that actually supply EPCOT’s restaurants. One of the most underrated attractions at Walt Disney World.
#31 — Na’vi River Journey (Animal Kingdom)
A serene boat ride through the bioluminescent rainforests of Pandora, culminating in an encounter with the Shaman of Songs — one of the most advanced animatronics Disney has ever built. The ride is visually stunning but short, and many guests feel the experience doesn’t justify the often-long wait times.
#30 — Mission: SPACE (EPCOT)
This astronaut training simulator offers two intensity levels: the intense Orange Mission (with centrifuge-powered G-forces simulating a Mars launch) and the gentler Green Mission (orbiting Earth). The Orange side is one of the most intense experiences at Disney World. It’s a unique attraction, though the enclosed capsule isn’t for everyone.
#29 — Kali River Rapids (Animal Kingdom)
This river rapids ride sends guests through the rainforests of Asia on a Conservation-themed whitewater adventure. You will get soaked — possibly drenched. It’s a perfect way to cool down on a hot Florida day, though the ride is shorter than many guests expect and the “rapids” are relatively mild compared to other parks’ offerings.
#28 — Star Tours – The Adventures Continue (Hollywood Studios)
This motion simulator takes guests on a randomized journey through the Star Wars galaxy, with dozens of possible scene combinations spanning all three trilogies. The re-rideability factor is high since you never know which planets or characters you’ll encounter. A solid Star Wars experience, even if motion simulators aren’t everyone’s favorite.
These attractions are solid Disney experiences that are worth your time if the wait is reasonable. You won’t regret riding them, but they probably shouldn’t be your top priorities on a busy day.
🟢 Don’t Miss Tier
#27 — Spaceship Earth (EPCOT)
The ride inside EPCOT’s iconic geodesic sphere takes guests on a journey through the history of human communication — from cave paintings to the internet. Dame Judi Dench narrates the current version, and the detailed scenes are impressive. It’s a uniquely EPCOT experience: educational, thoughtful, and quietly wonderful.
#26 — Frozen Ever After (EPCOT)
⚠️ Closed for refurbishment — reopening February 2026 with upgraded animatronics.
This boat ride in the Norway Pavilion takes guests through the kingdom of Arendelle, featuring Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and the gang in a celebration of the seasons. The animatronics and set design are excellent, and the backwards drop is a fun surprise. When it reopens with its upgrades, expect it to remain one of EPCOT’s most popular attractions.
#25 — Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (Hollywood Studios)
You’re literally piloting the Millennium Falcon. Guests take on one of three roles — pilot, gunner, or engineer — as they fly the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy on a smuggling mission. Walking into the cockpit is a jaw-dropping moment for any Star Wars fan. The ride experience varies based on your role (pilots have the most fun), and the interactive element keeps it fresh.
#24 — Space Mountain (Magic Kingdom)
The original indoor coaster in the dark, Space Mountain has been thrilling guests since 1975. The pitch-black environment makes a relatively mild coaster feel absolutely terrifying — you can never see what’s coming next. The space-themed queue, the iconic building, and the nostalgic factor earn it a spot in the top tier. It’s a ride that every generation discovers and falls in love with.
#23 — Toy Story Mania! (Hollywood Studios)
Strap on your 3D glasses and compete in a series of midway-style shooting games across Toy Story-themed scenes. The competitive gameplay makes every ride different, and the technology still holds up beautifully. It’s one of the best interactive rides Disney has ever built and appeals to literally every age group.
#22 — Slinky Dog Dash (Hollywood Studios)
This family coaster in Toy Story Land puts guests aboard Slinky Dog as he stretches and dashes around Andy’s backyard. The theming is delightful — you genuinely feel toy-sized — and the ride has enough thrills to entertain adults while being accessible for younger riders. The second launch is a fun surprise.
#21 — Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure (EPCOT)
Guests shrink down to rat-size and scurry through Gusteau’s restaurant in trackless ride vehicles, dodging chefs and kitchen hazards. The trackless technology is fun and the 3D screens create a sense of scale. It’s a charming ride, though it can feel a bit short and the 3D effect doesn’t wow everyone.
#20 — Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress (Magic Kingdom)
⚠️ Currently closed for refurbishment — receiving an updated final scene featuring a new Walt Disney animatronic.
Originally created by Walt Disney himself for the 1964 World’s Fair, this rotating theater show follows an American family through the 20th century as technology progresses. “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” is one of Disney’s most beloved songs. It’s a piece of Disney history, and the upcoming refurbishment should make it even better.
#19 — Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover (Magic Kingdom)
This elevated, continuously-moving ride glides through the buildings of Tomorrowland, offering peeks inside Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear. It never has a long wait (you literally walk on), it’s relaxing, and it runs on a clean linear induction motor system. A fan favorite that consistently ranks as one of the most beloved attractions in the park — despite being “just” a people mover.
#18 — Soarin’ Around the World (EPCOT)
Guests board a hang glider-style vehicle and soar over landmarks from around the globe — the Eiffel Tower, the Great Wall of China, Kilimanjaro, and more — complete with wind, scents, and an incredible IMAX-quality screen. The sense of flight is magical, and the sweeping musical score ties it all together. Try to get a seat in the top row for the best experience.
#17 — Jungle Cruise (Magic Kingdom)
This boat tour through the rivers of the world — the Amazon, the Nile, the Mekong, and more — is powered by your Skipper’s corny jokes as much as its classic animatronic scenes. The 2021 updates added new storylines and refreshed the humor. It’s a Walt Disney original that keeps getting better with age, and a great Skipper can make it a top-5 experience.
#16 — Peter Pan’s Flight (Magic Kingdom)
Guests board pirate ships that soar over miniature scenes of London and Neverland in this classic Fantasyland dark ride. The moment you fly over London at night — with tiny cars and Big Ben glowing below — is pure Disney magic. The ride is short and perpetually packed (it consistently has the longest standby wait in Fantasyland), but it earns every minute of that wait.
Now we’re getting into the attractions that should be on every guest’s must-do list. These rides deliver memorable experiences that define a Walt Disney World vacation. If you’re planning your day, prioritize these. (Looking for help with your itinerary? Check out our Walt Disney World planning guides.)
#15 — Kilimanjaro Safaris (Animal Kingdom)
An open-air truck ride through 110 acres of African savanna, where guests observe real giraffes, elephants, lions, rhinos, hippos, and dozens of other species in naturalistic habitats. No two rides are ever the same — the animals are always in different spots doing different things. It’s genuinely one of the most unique theme park experiences in the world.
#14 — Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (Magic Kingdom)
⚠️ Currently closed for refurbishment — reopening spring 2026 with the addition of Rainbow Caverns.
The “wildest ride in the wilderness” is a runaway mine train through the red rock canyons of the American Southwest. The outdoor setting, the incredible rockwork, and the just-right thrill level make it perfect for the whole family. When it reopens with the new Rainbow Caverns scene, it should be even better than before.
#13 — Test Track (EPCOT)
Guests design a virtual concept car and then take it for a test run through a series of performance evaluations — culminating in a thrilling 65 mph blast around the outside of the building. It’s the fastest ride at Walt Disney World by top speed. The design element adds interactivity, and the final outdoor speed run is an absolute rush.
#12 — Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (Magic Kingdom)
The newest major attraction at Magic Kingdom, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure reimagined the former Splash Mountain with a story set after The Princess and the Frog. Guests join Tiana and Louis on a musical journey through the Louisiana bayou, featuring over 100 animatronics, original songs, and that signature log flume drop. The attention to detail is extraordinary, and the new soundtrack is infectious.
#11 — Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith (Hollywood Studios)
This indoor coaster launches guests from 0 to 57 mph in 2.8 seconds, then races through the “streets of LA” with inversions, corkscrews, and a blaring Aerosmith soundtrack. It’s the most intense roller coaster at Walt Disney World, featuring the only inversions in any Disney World ride. The launch alone makes it unforgettable.
#10 — Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain (Animal Kingdom)
This high-speed coaster through the Himalayas features a terrifying encounter with the Yeti, a backwards section in the dark, and some of the best theming of any roller coaster anywhere. The mountain itself is a masterpiece of Imagineering. Expedition Everest delivers on both thrills and storytelling in a way few coasters can match.
⭐ Best of the Best Tier
#9 — Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (Magic Kingdom)
This family coaster through the diamond mine from Snow White features innovative swinging ride vehicles that tilt into turns. The animatronic scenes of the dwarfs working in the mine are gorgeous, and the outdoor sections offer sweeping views of Fantasyland. It perfectly balances thrills and charm, making it one of Magic Kingdom’s most popular attractions.
#8 — TRON Lightcycle / Run (Magic Kingdom)
Walt Disney World’s newest coaster puts guests on motorcycle-style Lightcycles for a blazing-fast dash through the Grid. The launch into the outdoor canopy is breathtaking, and the indoor neon-lit sections are visually stunning. At under two minutes, it’s over quickly, but the sheer adrenaline rush makes it one of the most exhilarating experiences in all of Disney World.
#7 — Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway (Hollywood Studios)
Disney’s first ride-through attraction starring Mickey Mouse uses trackless ride technology to plunge guests into a zany Mickey cartoon. The “2½-D” projection effects are creative and colorful, and the ride has a wonderful sense of humor. It’s a technological achievement wrapped in classic Disney charm.
#6 — Pirates of the Caribbean (Magic Kingdom)
Walt Disney’s masterpiece boat ride through a Caribbean pirate adventure set the template for every Disney dark ride that followed. The atmospheric sets, the iconic “Yo Ho, Yo Ho” soundtrack, and the incredible animatronics (including Captain Jack Sparrow) create an immersive world you never want to leave. It’s a timeless classic that remains one of the best dark rides ever built.
#5 — Tower of Terror (Hollywood Studios)
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror drops guests 13 stories in a haunted Hollywood hotel elevator — with a randomized drop sequence that means you never know when you’ll fall next. The pre-show, the theming, the hallway walk, and the sheer terror of the drops combine into what many consider the most perfectly designed attraction at Walt Disney World. The view from the top isn’t bad either.
#4 — Avatar Flight of Passage (Animal Kingdom)
The best ride at Walt Disney World puts guests on the back of a banshee for a breathtaking flight over the world of Pandora. The 3D visuals are so sharp and immersive that you genuinely feel like you’re flying. You feel the banshee breathe beneath you, the wind in your face, and the mist of waterfalls. No ride at Disney World — or arguably anywhere in the world — delivers a more complete sensory experience. Flight of Passage is the ride that makes guests immediately get back in line. It’s the one people talk about for years, and it remains one of the most impressive attractions ever built.
#3 — Haunted Mansion (Magic Kingdom)
Nine hundred and ninety-nine happy haunts call this stately manor home — and there’s always room for one more. The Haunted Mansion is a masterclass in Imagineering, from the stretching room to the ghostly ballroom scene to the hitchhiking ghosts finale. Every inch of this ride is packed with detail, humor, and innovation that still amazes decades later. It’s not just one of Disney’s best rides — it’s one of the greatest themed attractions ever created.
#2 — Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (EPCOT)
EPCOT’s first roller coaster is a reverse-launch indoor coaster that rotates 360 degrees to face the action. Each ride features one of several possible songs from the Guardians soundtrack (getting “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire is a highlight). The storytelling, the technology, and the pure joy of this ride make it one of the best attractions Disney has ever built. It’s worth using Lightning Lane for.
#1 — Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (Hollywood Studios)
Rise of the Resistance isn’t just a ride — it’s a full Star Wars experience spanning multiple ride systems, pre-shows, and set pieces. Guests are captured by the First Order, marched through a Star Destroyer hangar (with dozens of Stormtroopers), and must escape in a harrowing trackless dark ride with drops, blaster fire, and encounters with Kylo Ren. At 18 minutes from start to finish, it’s the most ambitious attraction Disney has ever built. Nothing else in any theme park comes close to this level of immersion. It’s the best ride at Walt Disney World — and a strong argument for the best ride in the world, period.

What About DINOSAUR?
If you’re wondering where DINOSAUR is on this list — the popular dark ride at Animal Kingdom permanently closed on February 2, 2026. Disney confirmed that the attraction is being replaced by an Indiana Jones Adventure as part of the massive new Tropical Americas land coming to the park. It would have landed solidly in our “Don’t Miss” tier. RIP to one of Disney’s most underrated thrill rides.
