Walt Disney World’s annual “Goofy’s Mystery Tour” returned this year as “Goofy’s Mystiki Tour,” bringing together 1,200 cast members, their friends, and family for an after-hours competition at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The cast-exclusive event features challenging Disney trivia, brain teaser puzzles, and scavenger hunting, with approximately 300 four-person teams competing after the park closes to guests. Cast members from all lines of business can form teams, and each team can invite one family member or friend as their fourth teammate.
More Than 30 Years of Tradition
According to a Disney Parks Blog post, the event has run for more than 30 years, connecting “generations of cast members through creativity.” This year’s Mystiki Tour theme had teams competing across a range of Disney trivia categories, with “pretty much anything under the Disney umbrella” being fair game, from international parks and Disney history to Marvel, Star Wars, movies, and TV shows.
The blog post highlighted the personal significance of the event for cast members, with one participant noting that the teamwork and strategy “feel like a fun throwback to old times.” Another described the night as filled with “so much fun.”
The event showcases the unique experiences available to Disney cast members beyond the guest-facing roles, bringing together team members from across the company for a night of friendly competition and shared Disney fandom.
