Disneyland Resort is a two-park destination located in Anaheim, California, approximately 30 miles south of Los Angeles. The resort comprises Disneyland Park, the original Disney theme park that opened on July 17, 1955, and Disney California Adventure Park, which opened on February 8, 2001. Together, the two parks offer hundreds of attractions, dining locations, entertainment options, and character experiences. Downtown Disney, an outdoor shopping and dining district, connects the two parks and is free to enter without a theme park ticket.

2026 is a milestone year for the resort. Disneyland Park is celebrating its 70th Anniversary, a major expansion of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure is underway, and Soarin’ Over California has returned to the parks after a years-long absence. This guide covers everything a first-time or returning visitor needs to plan a trip to Disneyland Resort in 2026, including current ticket prices, hotel rates, Lightning Lane details, and what’s new this year.

When to Visit Disneyland in 2026

Choosing the right dates for a Disneyland trip can affect ticket prices, crowd levels, and overall experience. Disneyland uses a tiered pricing system for single-day tickets, with higher tiers reflecting higher demand. The cheapest single-day tickets (Tier 0 at $104 for adults) are available on select slower weekdays, primarily in January, late August, and September. For a full month-by-month breakdown of crowd levels and ticket pricing, see the best time to visit Disneyland in 2026 guide.

Quietest periods: January (after January 6), mid-August, and September tend to see lighter attendance. Midweek visits in these windows offer the best combination of short waits and lower ticket prices.

Busiest periods: Spring break (late March through mid-April), summer weekends, Thanksgiving week, and Christmas through New Year’s Day are the highest-demand periods. Single-day tickets on peak dates reach Tier 6 at $224 for adults.

Weather: Anaheim has a Mediterranean climate. Average highs in January and February range from the low 60s to upper 60s Fahrenheit. Summer months (June through September) average highs in the mid-80s, with occasional heat events pushing temperatures above 90 degrees. Rain is uncommon from May through October but more likely between December and March.

2026 Events Calendar

Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival: The 2026 DCA Food and Wine Festival runs through late April 2026 at Disney California Adventure. The festival features food and beverage marketplaces, live entertainment, and themed merchandise. For the full menu and foodie breakdown, read the DCA Food and Wine Festival 2026 complete foodie guide.

Disneyland After Dark: Disneyland After Dark is a series of separately ticketed after-hours events held in 2026. These events feature themed nights with unique entertainment and lower attendance. Five events are scheduled for 2026. Details on all five are available in the Disneyland After Dark 2026 guide.

Disneyland 70th Anniversary: Disneyland Park’s 70th Anniversary is being celebrated throughout 2026, with special merchandise, experiences, and limited-edition collectibles. New Topps trading cards commemorating the anniversary are available at the resort, as detailed in the Topps 70th Anniversary trading card announcement.

Disneyland Tickets: 2026 Pricing and How to Buy

Disneyland Resort uses demand-based, tiered pricing for single-day tickets. The price you pay depends on the date of your visit, with seven tiers ranging from Tier 0 (lowest demand, lowest price) to Tier 6 (peak demand, highest price). All guests age 10 and older are charged the adult ticket price. Children ages 3 through 9 pay the child rate. Children under age 3 do not require a ticket for entry.

1-Day, 1-Park Ticket Prices (2026)

Tier Adult (Age 10+) Child (Age 3-9)
Tier 0 $104 $98
Tier 1 $129 $119
Tier 2 $149 $139
Tier 3 $169 $159
Tier 4 $184 $174
Tier 5 $199 $189
Tier 6 $224 $214

A 1-Day ticket is valid for one park only: either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure. Tickets are date-specific but can also be used on a date within the same or lower pricing tier. The Park Hopper upgrade, which allows access to both parks on the same day, adds between $70 and $90 to a single-day ticket depending on the tier.

In 2026, Disneyland removed the 11:00 a.m. restriction previously required before Park Hopping to the second park. Guests with Park Hopper tickets can now visit the second park at any time on the same day. Full details on this change are covered in the Disneyland Park Hopper restriction update.

Multi-Day Ticket Prices (2026)

Ticket Length Adult 1-Park Child 1-Park Adult Park Hopper Child Park Hopper
2-Day $335 $315 $435 $415
3-Day $425 $400 $535 $510
4-Day $480 $450 $600 $570
5-Day $520 $485 $655 $620

Multi-day tickets expire 13 days after the first day of use. The cost-per-day decreases significantly as additional days are added, making multi-day tickets a strong value for trips of two or more days. Park reservations are required for every visit day regardless of ticket type and must be secured in the Disneyland app after purchasing tickets.

Magic Key Annual Passes (2026)

Disneyland Resort’s annual pass program is called Magic Key. As of January 13, 2026, four Magic Key tiers are available. All four tiers include Park Hopper access, require theme park reservations for each visit, and do not guarantee entry to the parks.

  • Inspire Key: $1,899 – Fewest blockout dates, free standard parking, up to 20% off select merchandise, up to 15% off select dining, unlimited PhotoPass downloads, 25% off Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Holds up to 6 reservations at a time.
  • Believe Key: $1,474 – Fewer blockout dates than Explore, 50% off standard parking, up to 10% off select merchandise and dining, unlimited PhotoPass downloads, 25% off Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Holds up to 6 reservations at a time.
  • Explore Key: $999 – New in 2026, replacing the Enchant Key effective January 13, 2026. Adds approximately 39 more days of summer validity compared to the Enchant Key. 25% off standard parking at Toy Story Parking Area, up to 10% off select merchandise and dining, 25% off Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Holds up to 4 reservations at a time.
  • Imagine Key: $599 – Available exclusively to Southern California residents with ZIP codes 90000 to 93599. Most blockout dates of any tier. Holds up to 2 reservations at a time. 25% off standard parking at Toy Story Parking Area, up to 10% off select merchandise and dining, 25% off Lightning Lane Multi Pass.

Disneyland Resort Hotels

Disney operates three hotels at Disneyland Resort. All three offer early theme park entry (30 minutes before the general public), a dedicated hotel entrance into Disney California Adventure, and direct access to the parks and Downtown Disney. Parking at all Disney hotels is $40 per night for standard self-parking. None of the hotels charge a resort fee.

Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa

Rate range: approximately $475 to $980 per night. The flagship property at Disneyland Resort, built in the Arts and Crafts architectural style. It sits inside the resort footprint with a direct pedestrian entrance into Disney California Adventure. The hotel features 948 rooms and suites, a full-service spa, three restaurants (Napa Rose, Storytellers Cafe, GCH Craftsman Grill), two pools, and a kids’ activity center. Napa Rose reopened with refreshed interiors in February 2026.

Disneyland Hotel

Rate range: approximately $300 to $650 per night. The original Disneyland Resort hotel, recently renovated with updated rooms and a new pool area featuring a water play structure. The hotel includes 973 rooms, character dining at Goofy’s Kitchen, and the Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar lounge.

Disney’s Pixar Place Hotel

Rate range: approximately $275 to $550 per night. The most affordable on-property option with a rooftop pool overlooking Disney California Adventure. Features 481 rooms and a grab-and-go dining location.

Off-Property Hotels

Dozens of hotels sit within walking distance of Disneyland Resort along Harbor Boulevard and surrounding streets. Properties like the Courtyard by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park Entrance, Howard Johnson by Wyndham, and Fairfield Inn Anaheim Resort Area offer rates starting around $120-200 per night. These hotels do not include early theme park entry but can save families hundreds of dollars over the course of a multi-night stay.

Getting There

Airports: The closest airport is John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County, approximately 15 miles from the resort. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is roughly 35 miles away. Long Beach Airport (LGB) is about 20 miles away and often has competitive fares on Southwest Airlines and JetBlue.

Parking: Disneyland Resort operates the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure and Pixar Pals Parking Structure, both located on Disneyland Drive. Standard parking is $40 per day. Preferred parking (closer to the tram) is $60 per day. The Toy Story Parking Area, located further away with shuttle service, is also $40 per day.

Character dining: Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel and Storytellers Cafe at the Grand Californian both offer character breakfast and brunch experiences. Plaza Inn inside Disneyland Park offers character breakfast with Minnie Mouse and friends. Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance through the Disneyland app or website.

Signature dining: Napa Rose at the Grand Californian is the resort’s premier fine dining restaurant, featuring California cuisine with wine pairings. Carthay Circle Restaurant in Disney California Adventure serves seasonal American cuisine in an upscale setting inspired by the theater where Snow White premiered in 1937.

Lightning Lane at Disneyland

Disneyland Resort’s Lightning Lane system allows guests to reserve shorter wait times at select attractions. Two paid options are available:

  • Lightning Lane Multi Pass: Costs $34 to $39 per person per day depending on the date. Allows booking return times for multiple attractions. Guests can hold up to two reservations at a time and book additional selections after redeeming one. Selections are made through the Disneyland app.
  • Lightning Lane Single Pass: Costs $7 to $25 per individual attraction. Available for the highest-demand rides including Rise of the Resistance, Radiator Springs Racers, and others. Purchased individually through the Disneyland app.

Disneyland 70th Anniversary: Disneyland Park celebrates its 70th Anniversary on July 17, 2026. Special merchandise, limited-edition collectibles including Topps trading cards, and anniversary celebrations are expected throughout 2026 and into 2027.

DCA Food and Wine Festival: The 2026 festival features eight marketplace locations with dozens of new dishes and drinks. The full menu is available in the DCA Food and Wine Festival 2026 complete foodie guide.

Tips for First-Time Visitors

  • Download the Disneyland app before your trip. It handles tickets, park reservations, Lightning Lane purchases, mobile food ordering, wait times, and park maps.
  • Arrive early. The parks often open 15-30 minutes before the posted opening time. Being at the gates 30-45 minutes before opening lets you walk on to major attractions with minimal waits in the first hour.
  • Bring a portable phone charger. The Disneyland app drains battery quickly with constant use for Lightning Lane, maps, and mobile ordering.
  • Wear comfortable shoes. Guests average 8-12 miles of walking per park day.
  • Pack sunscreen and a light jacket. Anaheim gets warm during the day but temperatures can drop 15-20 degrees after sunset, especially from October through March.
  • Use mobile ordering for meals. Place orders 30-60 minutes before you want to eat to avoid the lunch and dinner rush.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many days do you need at Disneyland?

Most visitors need 2-3 full days to experience both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure without rushing. One day per park is the minimum, with a third day allowing you to revisit favorites and catch anything you missed.

Is Park Hopper worth it at Disneyland?

For visits of 2 or more days, Park Hopper adds flexibility, especially now that the 11:00 a.m. restriction has been removed. For a 1-day visit, it depends on whether you want to split time between both parks or focus on one.

Do I need Lightning Lane at Disneyland?

Lightning Lane is optional. On slower days (midweek in off-season), standby wait times are manageable without it. On busy days (weekends, holidays, summer), Lightning Lane Multi Pass can save several hours of waiting.

What is Early Entry at Disneyland?

Guests staying at one of the three Disney Resort hotels can enter the parks 30 minutes before the general public. Early Entry is available every day at both parks and includes access to select attractions during that window.

Can I bring food into Disneyland?

Yes. Guests are allowed to bring outside food and non-alcoholic beverages into the parks. Loose ice, glass containers, and alcoholic beverages are not permitted. Coolers must be no larger than 24 inches long, 15 inches wide, and 18 inches high.

Is Disneyland or Disney World better?

They offer different experiences. Disneyland is more compact (two parks you can walk between), features Walt Disney’s original park, and requires fewer days. Disney World is much larger (four parks, two water parks, 25+ hotels) and requires more planning and time. For a comparison, see the Walt Disney World 2026 Planning Guide.
