Disney+ is rolling out a new feature called Verts – a vertical video feed now available on the mobile app for U.S. subscribers. The feature launched this week and lets users discover what to watch by swiping through a stream of scenes and moments from movies and shows on the platform.

Disney first announced Verts at the 2026 Global Tech and Data Showcase. A similar version already launched on ESPN in August, where Disney says it drove additional engagement during early tests.

How Verts Works

Tap the new Verts icon in the mobile navigation bar and you get a vertical feed of short clips pulled from Disney+ titles. Swipe through, add anything to your Watchlist directly, or jump straight into playback. The recommendation engine is personalized per user. With a catalog that spans more than 100 years of Disney storytelling – including recent hits like Zootopia 2 – there is a lot to surface.

Disney describes this as “the first phase” of a broader mobile-first evolution. The company says it is already exploring ways to expand Verts beyond content discovery – including creator content, new storytelling formats, and more personalized experiences down the line.

What It Means for Disney+

This is Disney leaning into the short-form vertical video behavior that has dominated mobile for years. Think TikTok or Instagram Reels, but built directly into Disney+ as a discovery tool rather than a standalone feed. The move makes sense given how many subscribers open the app and scroll looking for something to watch.

Verts is available now on the Disney+ mobile app for U.S. subscribers. The feature will expand over time according to Disney.
