Disney just confirmed a major expansion of Bluey content. Two new additions to Disney+ were announced today, plus the Bluey movie finally has a release date.
Bluey’s Big Play – The Stage Show Premieres March 16 on Disney+
Bluey’s Big Play – The Stage Show comes to Disney+ on March 16 — four days from now. This is a special televised version of the popular touring theatrical production, featuring live performances of fan-favorite characters brought to life by world-class puppeteers. The special is an adaptation of the Emmy Award-winning animated series, with an original story by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and music by composer Joff Bush.
The production is from BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions in association with Ludo Studio, Andrew Kay, and Windmill Theatre Co.
10 Bluey Minisodes Hit Disney+ for the First Time — May 20
A collection of 10 Bluey Minisodes — previously only available online and in Australia — arrives on Disney+ for the first time on May 20. These are bite-sized, one-to-three minute shorts highlighting playful moments with Bluey and Bingo.
The 10 minisodes: Humpty Dumpty, Green Bottles, Flying Saucer, Tea Party, Pea Pod Sausages, Old Macdonald, Honk, Lollipop Song, Cinderella, and Make Mum Laugh.
The Bluey Movie: August 6, 2027
BBC Studios and Walt Disney Studios, in partnership with Ludo Studio, confirmed the feature-length Bluey movie will release in cinemas on August 6, 2027. No additional details on the story yet.
The Numbers Behind the Announcement
Disney cited the reason for the expansion simply: Bluey was the #1 most-streamed program in the U.S. in 2025 for the second consecutive year, with 45.2 billion minutes streamed. That’s not a typo. 45.2 billion minutes.
Bluey Is Also Coming to Disney Parks This Year

Today’s announcement also compiled all of Disney’s Bluey park activations in one place:
- Disneyland Park: “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” opens March 22 at the reimagined Fantasyland Theatre (now a Fun Fair at Bluey’s School). Runs through the year.
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Bluey and Bingo arrive May 26 at Conservation Station. Guests take the Wildlife Express Train, play games from the show, meet the characters, and discover Australian animals at “Jumping Junction.” Stays beyond Cool KIDS’ SUMMER.
- Disney Cruise Line: Bluey and Bingo are already sailing in 2026 with greetings, dance parties, and more.
