Disney Cruise Line debuted a new ad during the Academy Awards on Sunday, March 15, 2026, and it is already making the rounds.
The spot, called “Midnight Magic,” follows a father and son who develop a quiet ritual aboard a Disney ship – a late-night walk on the decks after most guests have gone to sleep. The ad traces that tradition across decades, from the son’s childhood through adulthood and into grandparenthood.
“Disney has brought families closer together for generations,” said Asad Ayaz, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer at The Walt Disney Company. “This campaign embodies what guests tell us time and again: that the Disney experiences they cherish most are the ones spent with the people they love. We’re grateful to make that kind of Disney magic a reality.”
Disney says the concept came directly from repeat guests and longtime fans who described their cruises as family traditions. The creative team drew from how Disney creates moments of real connection, both in moments of grandeur and in the quiet time families share.
Disney Cruise Line Expansion
The ad arrives as Disney Cruise Line is in the middle of a major fleet expansion. Five new ships are planned by 2031, bringing the total fleet to 13 ships worldwide. The recently launched Disney Destiny is now sailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Disney Adventure debuted in Singapore in March 2026 as the line’s first ship in Asia.
Disney Cruise Line currently sails to destinations across the Caribbean, The Bahamas, Europe, Alaska, and beyond, with more departure ports being added as the fleet grows.
