Disney Imagination will be the first Disney cruise ship to sail from Japan. It’s scheduled to set sail from Tokyo in spring 2029.

Ariel and Sebastian will appear on the stern, alongside friends from beneath the sea. Ariel will use a dinglehopper to draw the ship’s name, a tribute to her curiosity, creativity and adventurous spirit.
Oriental Land Co., Ltd. (OLC) will operate Disney Cruise Line Japan, the Disney-branded cruise business launching with this ship. The company also owns and operates Tokyo Disney Resort under license from Disney.
OLC revealed the name in Tokyo.
Yumiko Takano, OLC’s chairperson and chief executive officer, attended with Oriental Land Cruise president Ryotaro Shiiba. Disney Signature Experiences president Natacha Rafalski also joined them. Tracy Wilson, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Cruise Line Operations, participated in the ceremony.
Rafalski said the partnership would “create opportunities for Japanese guests to experience a Disney vacation at sea.”
The ship belongs to the Wish class. Disney says guests will have the entertainment, dining and guest service associated with its cruise vacations.
Disney says it will share additional details about onboard experiences and future itineraries at a later date.
