When Does Maul – Shadow Lord Premiere on Disney+?
Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord premieres with a two-episode debut on Sunday, April 6, 2026 exclusively on Disney+. New episodes drop two at a time each week, with the 10-episode series wrapping with its finale on Monday, May 4, 2026, which is Star Wars Day.
The series is set after the events of The Clone Wars, following Maul in the early years of the Empire as he plots to rebuild his criminal syndicate on the planet Janix, a world untouched by Imperial reach. There he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who may become his new apprentice.

Why Lucasfilm Is Building Up the Maul Campaign
Maul – Shadow Lord is one of the biggest Disney+ Star Wars releases of 2026, and Lucasfilm has been building toward it methodically. A teaser trailer dropped January 22, 2026. The full trailer arrived March 16. A five-issue Marvel prequel comic (Star Wars: Shadow of Maul by Benjamin Percy) began on March 4. Lucasfilm even updated its animated logo to a Sith-red version for the show’s launch window.
