Ollivanders at Universal Studios Hollywood sells interactive wands for casting spells, including Wingardium Leviosa and Alohomora. Each comes with a spell-location map.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood combines two main rides with spellcasting, shows and Hogsmeade dining. Hogwarts castle houses Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, while Flight of the Hippogriff offers an outdoor, family-friendly coaster.
Forbidden Journey takes riders alongside Harry, Ron and Hermione through the Hogwarts grounds, Quidditch pitch and Forbidden Forest. Dementors also appear during the adventure.

- Food pickup: Three Broomsticks accepts mobile orders through the app.
- Castle showtimes: Find upcoming performances in the app or on Studio Directories around the park.
Rides and wand experiences
The queue for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey winds through Hogwarts castle. Along the way, guests pass the Gryffindor common room, Dumbledore’s office and the Mirror of Erised.
Flight of the Hippogriff begins and ends at Hagrid’s hut. Hagrid explains how to approach a Hippogriff, a creature with an eagle-like head and a horse’s body. The coaster has no big loops or big drops.
At Ollivanders, a wandkeeper matches one selected guest with a wand during an interactive show. Afterward, guests can shop for their own.
Shows around Hogwarts castle
The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle celebrates the four Hogwarts houses through lights and music on select nights. Universal recommends arriving about 20 minutes before showtime and choosing a viewing spot near the Triwizard Spirit Rally stage.
The Triwizard Spirit Rally features students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang demonstrating their skills during a five-minute performance. Guests can take photos with them afterward.
During Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the Frog Choir performs between Hogsmeade and Hogwarts castle. The 10-minute show features a four-part chorus singing wizarding world songs. The choir sings a cappella.
Where can you eat in Hogsmeade?
Three Broomsticks serves lunch and dinner, including a shared meal for four and a vegan option. Dishes and desserts include:
- Fish & Chips: Two pieces of ale-battered, deep-fried cod with chips and tartar sauce.
- Vegan Shepherd’s Pie: An option for vegetarian and vegan guests.
- The Great Feast: A four-person meal with herb-roasted chicken, spare ribs and roasted vegetables.
- Sticky Toffee Pudding: A dessert option.
- Butterbeer Potted Cream: Another dessert choice.
- Butterbeer soft serve: The restaurant’s only ice cream flavor.
Hog’s Head serves drinks, including the land’s non-alcoholic Butterbeer:
- Butterbeer: Hot, cold or frozen.
- Alcoholic drinks: Original draught beers and spirits.
Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Counter sits inside Honeydukes. Guests can choose a cup or cone, with soft serve and hard-pack ice cream available.
- Flavors: Choices include Butterbeer, chocolate and vanilla.
