Disney has announced the 2026 Disney Legends Award honorees, revealing 11 new names that will receive the company’s highest honor at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim this August.
Theme Park Shark was at the announcement at Walt Disney Studios today.
The ceremony takes place Sunday, August 16 at 1:30 p.m. PT at the Honda Center, hosted by Ryan Seacrest. It will stream on Disney+.
The 2026 Disney Legends
Bob Iger – Former Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company. During his nearly two decades leading Disney, Iger oversaw unprecedented creative and business growth, including the acquisitions of Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and 21st Century Fox, and the launch of Disney+.
Lin-Manuel Miranda – Songwriter and composer behind some of Disney’s most celebrated modern music, including the soundtracks for Moana and Encanto. His work on “How Far I’ll Go” and “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” became cultural phenomena.
Dwayne Johnson – Voiced Maui in Moana and starred in Jungle Cruise. His performance of “You’re Welcome” became one of Disney’s most recognizable modern songs.

Anne Hathaway – Starred as Mia Thermopolis in The Princess Diaries and its sequel, and appeared as the White Queen in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.

Jonas Brothers – Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas shaped a generation of Disney Channel music through Camp Rock, Camp Rock 2, and their Disney Channel concert specials.

Jerry Bruckheimer – Producer of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, one of Disney’s most successful film series. His career spans decades of blockbuster filmmaking.
Chris Berman – Pioneering ESPN broadcaster whose voice and presence helped shape ESPN into a global sports and entertainment powerhouse over his decades-long career.
Susan Egan – Originated the role of Belle in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway and voiced Megara in Disney’s Hercules.
Eric Goldberg – Supervising animator of the Genie in Aladdin and director of segments in Fantasia 2000. His artistry brought some of Disney’s most beloved animated characters to life.

Alan Tudyk – Disney’s go-to voice actor, lending his talent to King Candy in Wreck-It Ralph, Duke of Weselton in Frozen, Heihei in Moana, and K-2SO in Rogue One, among many others.
Kim Irvine – Decades of leadership at Walt Disney Imagineering, preserving heritage while championing creativity across Disney parks and experiences worldwide.
The Disney Legends Tradition
The Disney Legends Awards program is a 39-year tradition that began in 1987 when Fred MacMurray became the first honoree. Including this year’s class, 329 Disney Legends have been named. Past honorees include Harrison Ford, Angela Bassett, Miley Cyrus, Jamie Lee Curtis, James Cameron, John Williams, and Oprah Winfrey.
D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event takes place August 14-16, 2026, at the Anaheim Convention Center and Honda Center.
