If you’ve ever watched the Savannah Bananas and thought, “these guys are having way too much fun,” well — turns out at least one of them is also a die-hard Disney fan. Jackson Olson, a player for the Savannah Bananas (the wildly entertaining baseball troupe that’s taken the sports world by storm), penned a guest piece for the Disney Parks Blog on March 26, 2026, and it’s everything you’d want from a guy who once dressed as Woody from Toy Story for multiple Halloweens.
Olson grew up visiting Walt Disney World in Florida with his family, and he was all-in from an early age. Woody was his No. 1 guy — fitting for someone who’d later make a career out of performing for crowds. He even kept an autograph book and a little journal on those childhood trips, dutifully logging his favorite moments from each visit. He rediscovered those notebooks a few years ago, and while he admits his elementary school handwriting was rough, the memories came flooding back.
Fast forward to today: Olson’s become what he calls a “very proud Disney adult,” creating Disney content on social media for Savannah Bananas fans. He’s sharing park tips, hot takes (EPCOT is his favorite park, cheeseburger spring rolls from Magic Kingdom are his go-to snack), and his renewed love of Disney pin trading — which he traces back to his days trying to collect pins as a kid at Disney World after missing out on the Cooperstown Dreams Park trading scene.
The timing of his Disney Parks Blog post is no coincidence. Olson wrote it in conjunction with Savannah Bananas Day at Disneyland Resort, which took place on March 26, 2026. The one-day event returned for a second year, expanding to both Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure, with performances, a cavalcade down Main Street, U.S.A., and player meet-and-greets. Olson himself participated in the cavalcade, bringing the Banana Ball energy right to the heart of the Happiest Place on Earth.
