Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort turns 35 this fall, and Universal is pulling out all the stops for the milestone anniversary. Today, the resort officially unveiled the theme for HHN35: the “Infernal Carnival of Nightmares,” along with the return of two of the event’s most iconic characters as co-hosts.
Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow will serve as the ringmasters of this year’s event, marking the first time these legendary rivals have joined forces in the event’s history. Halloween Horror Nights 35 runs select nights at Universal Studios Florida from August 28 through November 1, 2026.
The Infernal Carnival of Nightmares
Universal is transforming Universal Studios Florida into a “decrepit, fear-fueled carnival” featuring a sinister new slate of haunted houses, scare zones, and entertainment. The theme draws on 35 years of HHN history while bringing in some of the biggest names in horror.
At the center of it all are Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow, two characters who have long existed as rivals in the Halloween Horror Nights universe. For HHN35, Universal is flipping the script: rather than fighting each other, the two icons are uniting. The logic, according to Universal, is that “a fear divided is a fear diluted.”

First Haunted House: Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control
Universal has revealed the first haunted house of HHN35: “Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control.” The house takes guests into the origins of the two icons’ rivalry, following their conflict until they ultimately discover that joining forces is the only way to achieve the power they seek.
It’s the first time the backstory of these two characters has been explored together in a dedicated haunted house experience.
