# Is Disney World Memory Maker Worth It in 2026?

The short answer: it depends on how many people are in your group and how many days you’re spending in the parks. For a family of four hitting multiple parks over a full week, Memory Maker is a solid deal. For a solo traveler or a couple doing a single day, it’s probably not.

Here’s the full breakdown.

## Memory Maker Pricing (2026)

| Option | Price |
|—|—|
| Memory Maker (advance purchase, 3+ days before trip) | $185 |
| Memory Maker (purchased during trip) | $210 |
| Memory Maker One Day | $75 |
| Annual Passholder PhotoPass add-on | $99/year |
| Individual photo (no Memory Maker) | approx. $17-19 per photo |

Buy it at least three days before your trip to lock in the $185 rate. Waiting until you’re at the parks costs an extra $25.

## What Memory Maker Includes

– Ride photos (see full list below)
– Character meet-and-greet photos
– Magic Shots (special effects added by PhotoPass photographers)
– Select ride videos
– Select dining photos
– Coverage for up to 25 people linked via Family and Friends in My Disney Experience
– Photos linked via MagicBand, park ticket, or the MDE app
– Downloads available through the My Disney Experience app or website

One thing that trips people up: Capture Your Moment private sessions cost $99 separately and are not included in Memory Maker. However, the photos taken during that session are included, so you get the downloads covered even though the session itself costs extra.

Photos expire 45 days after they’re taken. Download before that window closes.

## Ride Photos Included by Park

**Magic Kingdom**
– Space Mountain
– Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
– Pirates of the Caribbean
– Haunted Mansion
– Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

**EPCOT**
– Test Track
– Frozen Ever After

**Hollywood Studios**
– Tower of Terror

**Animal Kingdom**
– Expedition Everest

## When Memory Maker IS Worth It

**Scenario 1: Family of four, 5-day trip**

At $17-19 per individual photo, a family of four doing multiple parks across five days can rack up photos fast. Consider: one character meet per day (5 photos), one Magic Shot per day (5 photos), and ride photos across the trip. That’s realistically 15-25 photos without trying.

At $17 each, 11 photos = $187. You’ve already broken even on the advance purchase price.

If you’re the type to stop for every PhotoPass photographer, the math shifts heavily in your favor.

**Scenario 2: Multi-generational trip**

Memory Maker covers up to 25 people in your Family and Friends group. A trip with grandparents, parents, and kids? The per-person cost drops significantly, and you’ll have professional group shots without anyone being stuck behind the camera.

**Scenario 3: First-time visitors**

If this is a once-in-a-long-while Disney trip, the photos tend to matter more. Getting professional shots at iconic locations, character meets, and ride moments adds up to a real photo album. Paying per photo to get that same coverage would cost significantly more.

**The math:**
– 11 or more photos: Memory Maker ($185 advance) pays off vs. buying individually at $17/photo
– 10 or more photos: Memory Maker pays off at $19/photo pricing
– Group of 4: Each person’s share of $185 is $46.25 or less

## When Memory Maker is NOT Worth It

**Solo traveler or couple, one or two days**

If it’s just two people for a single day, figure out realistically how many photos you’ll actually stop for. If the answer is three or four, paying $75-$185 for Memory Maker doesn’t make sense. Buy the ones that matter individually.

**Short trip, low photo priority**

Some people just aren’t big on stopping for photos. If you’re the type to keep moving and skip character meets, Memory Maker will sit unused.

**One-day trips specifically**

The Memory Maker One Day option at $75 requires taking at least five photos at $17 each (or four at $19) to break even. That’s doable, but only if you’re actively seeking out PhotoPass photographers throughout the day. One or two casual shots won’t cover it.

**You’ve been many times before**

If you have the classic shots from past trips and this visit is more about rides than photos, skip it.

## Annual Passholder Breakdown

Annual Passholders can add PhotoPass to their pass for $99 per year. That covers unlimited downloads for the entire length of the pass.

If you visit four or more times per year, $99 spread across multiple trips is a better deal than buying Memory Maker separately each time. Even two visits where you would have bought Memory Maker ($185 x 2 = $370) makes the $99/year add-on the clear choice.

The passholder add-on covers the same content as standard Memory Maker: ride photos, character meets, Magic Shots, dining photos, and ride videos.

## Tips

**Buy at least three days before your trip.** The advance purchase saves $25 compared to buying at the parks. Set a calendar reminder.

**Check your linked photos daily in the MDE app.** PhotoPass photographers sometimes have trouble linking photos to the right account. Catching it early means you can get it corrected before the 45-day expiration.

**Ask for Magic Shots every time you’re with a photographer.** Not every photographer volunteers them. Just ask. These are included at no extra charge and are some of the more memorable images from the trip.

**The dining photos are easy to miss.** Select table service restaurants have PhotoPass photographers. If you have Memory Maker, look for them.

**Download everything before the 45-day window closes.** Photos expire 45 days after they’re taken, not 45 days after your trip ends. If your trip is five days long, the clock starts on day one.

## FAQ

**Can I share Memory Maker with people in my group?**

Yes. Memory Maker covers up to 25 people linked through Family and Friends in My Disney Experience. Link your group before the trip so photos automatically attach to the right account.

**Does Memory Maker cover all rides?**

No. It covers select rides only. Confirmed as of 2026: Space Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Buzz Lightyear at Magic Kingdom; Test Track and Frozen Ever After at EPCOT; Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios; Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom.

**Can I buy Memory Maker after my trip starts?**

Yes, but it’ll cost $210 instead of $185. The advance purchase price requires buying at least three days before the trip begins.

**Does Memory Maker include Capture Your Moment sessions?**

The $99 Capture Your Moment session is a separate purchase and is not included. The photos from that session, however, are included in Memory Maker downloads.

**How do I get my photos after the trip?**

Through the My Disney Experience app or website. Download everything within 45 days of when each photo was taken.

**Is the One Day version worth it?**

At $75, you need at least four photos at $19 each to break even. It makes sense if you’re actively collecting photos throughout a single park day. It’s a pass if you’re doing one or two casual shots.

**What if a PhotoPass photo doesn’t show up in my account?**

Contact Disney PhotoPass support through the MDE app or website. They can manually link photos to your account. Act on missing photos sooner rather than later.

**Does Memory Maker expire?**

Photos expire 45 days after they’re taken. The advance purchase must be used within 30 days of purchase if your trip hasn’t started yet.
