Disney and Walt Disney Imagineering have teamed up with The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis to open Tiana’s Joyful Celebration – the first-ever museum exhibition dedicated to Princess Tiana, now open through January 3, 2027.

The immersive experience sets families inside a 1928 New Orleans neighborhood where Tiana and friends are racing to finish a Mardi Gras season parade. Guests pitch in – decorating floats, joining the Bayou Community Band alongside Prince Naveen, designing masks and costumes at Eudora’s dress shop, cooking Tiana’s father’s gumbo recipe, and learning a second-line dance from a New Orleans native dancer.

The exhibit builds on the world of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the attraction now running at both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland. Imagineers say the project grew from a desire to share more of Princess Tiana’s story beyond the parks.

What’s Inside the Exhibit

  • Decorate Mardi Gras season parade floats with lights and handmade touches
  • Join the Bayou Community Band and experiment with New Orleans rhythm
  • Design masks and parade costumes at Eudora’s dress shop
  • Create light-up sno-ball flavors alongside Mama Odie
  • Prepare Tiana’s father’s legendary gumbo recipe
  • Learn a second-line dance from a New Orleans native dancer

The exhibit includes bilingual signage in English and Spanish, with accessible elements in ASL and Braille. Recommended for children ages 6-10 and their families, it’s included with general museum admission.

Five-Year Nationwide Tour

Indianapolis is just the beginning. After closing January 2027, the exhibition kicks off a five-year nationwide tour hitting at least 12 more cities – including stops in California, Florida, Michigan, and Ohio.

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis – the world’s largest children’s museum at 485,000 square feet – has been named best children’s museum in the country by USA Today three years running, and celebrated its 100th birthday in 2025.

Tickets are included with museum admission. Plan your visit at childrensmuseum.org. Follow @waltdisneyimagineering on Instagram for tour stop announcements.
