Disney, Formula 1, and Make-A-Wish revealed two custom Mickey Mouse racing helmets on Thursday, July 2, 2026. The helmets support a first-of-its-kind charity initiative. One goes to auction in July. The other heads to D23 in Anaheim this August.
Mickey Gets a Racing Helmet
The helmets were created with Bell Racing. Bret Iwan, the official voice of Mickey Mouse, designed the artwork. Bobby Kim, Global Creative Director for Disney Consumer Products, handled creative direction.
Each helmet features a matte black base with high-gloss graphics. Bold red and yellow accents surround Mickey Mouse artwork and Formula 1 branding. A small Make-A-Wish star trails behind Mickey’s shoe, reading as a sparkle as he races forward. Track-inspired striping and racing numbers complete the look.
Each helmet comes with a custom presentation box built for display. That includes a plexiglass case and a certificate of authenticity signed by both Iwan and Kim.

Auction Dates and Where the Money Goes
The first helmet was signed by Formula 1 drivers during race weekend at Silverstone. That group included Pierre Gasly, a Make-A-Wish France ambassador.
The signed helmet will be auctioned through F1 Authentics. Auction sign-up begins Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Bidding runs Saturday, July 11 through Saturday, July 18, 2026. Net proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish International, granting wishes for children outside the U.S.

The Second Helmet Lands at D23
The second helmet will be showcased at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. That runs August 14 through 16, 2026, in Anaheim, California. Fans can see the design up close on the show floor.
The partnership builds on a long history. The first official Make-A-Wish wish was granted at Disneyland more than 45 years ago. Since then, Disney and Make-A-Wish have granted more than 175,000 wishes worldwide.
What This Means for Fans
If you want a shot at the signed helmet, mark Tuesday, July 7 for auction sign-up on F1 Authentics. If bidding is out of reach, the second helmet is viewable at D23 in Anaheim from August 14 to 16. D23 tickets are on sale now, and the event keeps adding reveals like this one.
