Kings Island hosts Reds Fan Day presented by Coca-Cola. Cincinnati Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson headlines the day with a meet and greet inside Kings Island Theater. The session runs from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Getting in front of Stephenson takes more than showing up at 11 a.m. A voucher is required to participate. Kings Island distributes those vouchers at the theater on August 1 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Distribution is first come, first serve, and quantities are limited. Park admission is required on top of the voucher.
The 9:30 a.m. voucher line is the real deadline
Stephenson takes the theater 90 minutes after vouchers start going out. The park hasn’t published a voucher count, only that quantities are limited.
So treat 9:30 a.m. as the time that decides whether you get in, not 11 a.m. Anyone who wanders toward the theater near showtime is gambling on leftovers.
Reds gear gets you more than a photo
The park is asking guests to dress in their favorite Reds apparel for the day. That request comes with an incentive attached. Kings Island says guests dressed in Reds apparel will randomly have the chance to receive special surprise and delight prizes throughout the day.
The giveaways aren’t tied to the meet and greet. A jersey or a cap puts you in the running whether or not you land a voucher, so the outfit is worth planning either way.
What else is open that day
Reds Fan Day extends beyond the theater. Kings Island promotes a full day of thrills and family fun, with Stephenson’s one-hour meet and greet as the scheduled centerpiece.
My advice: make the voucher line your first stop of the day, ahead of the turnstile crowd spreading out. Once it’s in hand, the rest of the park is yours until the theater. Head back a few minutes early and you get the meet and greet plus a full day around it.
