Annabeth Chase is missing. That’s the hook for Season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, premiering November 20 on Disney+. The season adapts The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Rick Riordan’s Disney Hyperion series, and it sends Percy (Walker Scobell) after her while a goddess is in danger and new demigods start discovering who they are.

Hanging over everything is the Great Prophecy: one child of the Big Three, Zeus, Poseidon, or Hades, will either raise Olympus to new heights or bring it crashing down. That demigod’s life hangs in the balance. Percy’s concern is a lot simpler.

“It’s similar to how Grover’s disappearance affected him. There’s not a question in his mind: ‘Let’s go get her back,'” Scobell said in an interview at D23: the Ultimate Disney Fan Event. “All he’s thinking about is getting her back, so it’s really fun to play it like, ‘Oh, she’s gone? Time to go get her back.'”

Co-creator and executive producer Jon Steinberg framed the whole series around that pair. “From the beginning, and all the way through, the show orbits the relationship between Percy and Annabeth,” he said. “What happens when they’re apart? What will they do to get back together?”

The cast previewed the season at D23: the Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

Who joins the cast in Percy Jackson Season 3?

Thalia Grace (Tamara Smart), Nico di Angelo (Levi Chrisopulos), and Bianca di Angelo (Olive Abercrombie) all play central roles. So do Zoë Nightshade (Saara Chaudry) and Artemis (Dafne Keen).

Thalia is another child of the Big Three, tied to the same Great Prophecy that weighs on Percy, and the two don’t always see eye to eye. Smart liked that. “Thalia is a troublemaker, so I was definitely looking forward to being a bit of a rebel and just seeing where I could land,” she said.

Aryan Simhadri is back full-time as Grover after Season 2 kept him largely away from the group. His favorite Season 3 scenes are with Thalia. “In Season 2, he felt like what happened to her was his fault, so seeing them reunite is going to be really special,” he said.

Chaudry had roughly 2,000 years of backstory to build for Zoë, Artemis’ lieutenant among the Hunters. “Diving deep into her history, and understanding her over 2,000 years of lived experience, ultimately informed every single scene and decision we made with her,” she said.

Keen, a self-described Greek mythology nerd, kept her Artemis tease short: “She’s very removed from mortal affairs. And I’ll add that she’s pretty badass! She has some pretty cool moves.”

Why is Season 3 darker?

Executive producer Craig Silverstein said the tone follows the books. “Our job is to adapt the books, and the books get darker,” he said. “The stakes get higher as the books go on, and thankfully the cast and the characters age, so a more mature tone makes sense.”

Part of that darkness runs through Luke Castellan (Charlie Bushnell), still bound to Kronos (Nick Boraine). “It’s very clear that Kronos is still in charge,” Bushnell said of the power dynamic they established at the end of Season 2. “It’s kind of ironic that Luke is trying to take down the gods, but at the same time, he’s being manipulated by another higher power.”

He’d still like fans to go easy on the guy. “I think people should give Luke a little bit of grace, even though some of his actions are inexcusable,” Bushnell said. “Obviously, he does have a choice, but at this point, he might be too deep in it now.”

Which gods join Percy Jackson Season 3?

Season 3 stacks the Olympian bench. Hera (Disney Legend Ming-Na Wen), Aphrodite (Kate McKinnon), Demeter (Jennifer Beals), and Apollo (Hubert Smielecki) all join the pantheon. Executive producer Dan Shotz promised the payoff is worth it. “There’s so many new characters, with Nico and Bianca, the Hunters of Artemis, all the Gods,” Shotz said. “When everybody sees all the Gods, their minds are going to be blown!”

Put November 20 on the calendar. Season 3 runs on The Titan’s Curse, adds the Hunters of Artemis, and keeps the Great Prophecy hanging over Percy. Disney rolled out the details at D23: the Ultimate Disney Fan Event, and you can still catch up on the rest of the D23 2026 event lineup while you wait.
