Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting a holiday makeover. From November 4 through January 6, it becomes Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay, a limited-time experience with a seasonal storyline and new holiday songs.

The Electric Mayhem is turning its concert into a festive show. The changes start outside, where holiday music plays in the courtyard around the attraction’s guitar marquee.
- When: November 4 through January 6, limited time
- Where: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- What’s new: a holiday story inside G-Force Records and four new holiday tracks
What happens inside G-Force Records?
Dr. Teeth, Animal, Floyd, Janice, Zoot, and Lips are deep in rehearsals for their holiday spectacular. A few familiar Muppets friends stop by the studio to help, or at least try to.
The band’s holiday preparations don’t exactly go smoothly as the countdown to showtime continues.
Scooter is at the center of the story. Disney says this is the first-ever Audio-Animatronics figure of him. Walt Disney Imagineering used motion capture of the real Scooter Muppet’s performance to build and program a figure that moves and emotes like him, down to the small details.

He’s joined by the studio’s audio engineers, who are all penguins.

Scooter is trying to convince the band to stop jamming and get to their increasingly restless fans. Then you board a super-powered vehicle from Muppet Labs in the alleyway behind Studio C. It’s called the Lengthy Immediate Motion Object, or L.I.M.O.
What songs play on the holiday overlay?
The Electric Mayhem is bringing four new holiday-inspired tracks to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, including collaborations with special guests. Three of them feature special guests:

- Holiday Road: The Electric Mayhem featuring Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear
- Christmas (Baby Please Come Home): The Electric Mayhem featuring Jennifer Hudson
- Silver Bells: The Electric Mayhem featuring Cyndi Lauper
The fourth track is Little Saint Nick by The Electric Mayhem. The songs mix holiday cheer with high-energy riffs and rock star attitude.
If you’re visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios between November 4 and January 6, this is the only window for the holiday version.
