Star Wars: Ahsoka: Escape from Thrawn is a new Marvel Comics miniseries following Ezra Bridger’s escape from Peridea. Issue #1 arrives January 20, 2027, coinciding with the premiere of Ahsoka Season 2 on Disney+.

The five-issue series explores an adventure that happened offscreen at the end of the first season. It follows Ezra aboard Grand Admiral Thrawn’s flagship, where escaping exile still leaves him a dangerous journey home.
What happens in Ahsoka: Escape from Thrawn?
The story picks up a thread from Ahsoka Season 1. Ezra narrowly escaped his exile beyond the known galaxy by stowing away aboard the Chimaera. That put him within reach of the Empire’s greatest strategist while the ship traveled across hyperspace.
Thrawn isn’t the only threat.
Ezra must evade Captain Enoch and counter the Nightsisters’ dark magick, with nowhere to hide during his flight. Making it off the ship alive requires him to outwit Thrawn, not merely secure passage away from Peridea.
The first season showed the reunion waiting at the other end of that escape. Hera Syndulla could barely believe her eyes when Ezra arrived on Home One aboard a stolen ETA-Class shuttle.
He had disguised himself as one of Thrawn’s Night Troopers. Removing his helmet revealed who had returned, followed by a greeting that needed little explanation.
“Hi Hera, I’m home.”
The comic explores the unseen journey leading to that moment, rather than retelling only the reunion itself. Ezra’s covert escape connects this companion adventure to the live-action Disney+ series and its upcoming second season.
Eman Esfandi plays Ezra Bridger in Ahsoka, while Lars Mikkelsen plays Grand Admiral Thrawn. The comic centers on their characters as the rebel hero attempts to evade the strategist pursuing him.
