Universal Legacy Store opens Friday, April 24, 2026 at Universal CityWalk, taking over the space that most recently housed the Epic Universe Preview Center.
That means guests visiting Universal Orlando this weekend can once again stop at CityWalk for retro Universal merchandise and themed photo ops without needing to detour into a preview space that has already done its job.
The opening date
Universal confirmed Thursday, April 23, 2026 that Universal Legacy Store will open Friday at CityWalk. The reopening gives the former Epic Universe Preview Center location a new purpose less than two weeks after that preview space closed on April 13, 2026.
The timing makes sense now that Epic Universe has been open to guests since May 22, 2025. The preview center was built to sell guests on a park that had not opened yet. With the park already operating, Universal is shifting that high-traffic CityWalk storefront back to a retail concept guests can actually shop.
What is returning
Universal said the returning store will feature exclusive retro merchandise and photo opportunities inspired by classic Universal properties including E.T., Jaws, Back to the Future, and Universal Monsters. That puts the focus back on nostalgia instead of park preview material.
The original Universal Legacy Store built a following for mixing merch with a mini-museum feel, and its return gives CityWalk another stop that feels different from a standard gift shop. Guests who missed it during the Epic Universe Preview Center run now have an exact reopening date to plan around.
What guests should know
