Disney launched a new DonorsChoose back-to-school campaign on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, matching eligible public donations for classroom projects focused on the arts and storytelling.
Families and Disney fans can support teacher-posted projects at DonorsChoose.org/Disney2026, with Disney matching eligible donations for TK through 1st grade classrooms in under-resourced schools across all 50 states.
The campaign
The campaign is part of Disney’s Teacher Appreciation Week push with DonorsChoose, an education nonprofit that helps connect public donors with classroom projects posted by teachers.
Beginning May 5, donors can visit DonorsChoose.org/Disney2026 to find eligible projects from TK through 1st grade educators in under-resourced schools nationwide. Each project outlines the supplies a teacher is requesting for young students.

Who is eligible
Disney said the matching support applies to eligible public donations for resources tied to the arts and storytelling. The company described the classroom requests as supplies meant to help students build imagination, confidence, and self-expression.
Yvette Nicole Brown helped kick off the campaign in a new video. Brown voices one of Sofia’s new teachers in Sofia the First: Royal Magic and serves as Vice Chair of the DonorsChoose Board.
The Sofia connection
Sofia the First: Royal Magic is a new series set in the world of Sofia the First. Disney said the show follows Sofia at the Charmswell School for Royal Magic as she learns to master her magical powers, meet new friends, and make decisions on her own.
The campaign ties that school setting to real classrooms by spotlighting teachers who bring the arts into early learning spaces. Disney Jr. and Disney Jr. On Demand premiere Sofia the First: Royal Magic on Monday, May 25, 2026. The series streams Tuesday, May 26, 2026 on Disney+.

What Disney and DonorsChoose said
“Teachers play such an important role in helping lay the foundation for lifelong learning and growth, and principally, help kids discover what they are capable of,” Alyssa Sapire, Head of Disney Jr. Original Programming & Strategy, said in Disney’s announcement.
Alix Guerrier, CEO of DonorsChoose, said Disney is giving TK through 1st grade students “the creative supplies they need to express themselves through their classwork.” DonorsChoose thanked Disney for supporting educators and storytelling in elementary school.
For readers who want to help, the practical next step is the campaign page: choose an eligible classroom project, donate through DonorsChoose, and Disney will match qualifying public donations during the campaign period.
