Disneyland Paris published a June 10, 2026 look at how Arendelle Castle was built for World of Frozen at Disney Adventure World, highlighting work by Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and UK Loco Ltd.
For guests, the update puts a real construction story behind one of the land’s biggest visual landmarks: the castle built for World of Frozen’s royal encounter with Elsa and Anna.

The castle
The resort says Arendelle Castle was created for Disney Adventure World through work between Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and UK Loco Ltd, a United Kingdom based theming and engineering company in Cropthorne.
The official update says the teams translated Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen into a built environment designed to feel cohesive, believable, and richly detailed. The castle blends fortified-castle foundations with rooflines inspired by Norwegian stave churches, including Borgund, which dates from the 12th century.
The design had to hold up from multiple viewpoints, at different distances, and in changing light. The finished structure was also designed to use forced perspective as guests move through the land.
The build
UK Loco supported the project with detailed 3D modelling of the castle, walls, and turrets, letting Walt Disney Imagineering Paris review the project from all angles before production.
After the design phase, certified steel fabrication was completed for the internal support structure. Once foundations were in place, the teams moved to the facade.
The teams produced and scenically painted a full-scale mock-up of a castle section for Imagineering review before full production. The final delivery included aluminium fabrication for spires and roof elements, woodwork and pattern-making for detailed wall textures, near 2000 decorative shingle panels, scenic painting with Scandinavian rosemaling references, and lighting design.
UK Loco
UK Loco is not new to Disneyland Paris. The resort says the company has worked with Disneyland Paris for over 20 years and contributed to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Toy Story Playland, Crush’s Coaster, Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquee de Remy, and the Quinjet at Avengers Campus.
Stephen Paget, managing director of UK Loco Ltd, said the Disney Adventure World contribution was meaningful as the company marks 20 years of collaboration with Walt Disney Imagineering Paris.
What guests should know
This is not a new opening-date announcement. The June 10 update explains the craft and supplier work behind Arendelle Castle at World of Frozen.
The practical takeaway is simple: when guests see Arendelle Castle, they are looking at a structure shaped by 3D modelling, steel work, scenic paint, shingle panels, lighting design, and forced perspective, not just a backdrop for photos.
