Patrick Mahomes and his family previewed Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, Texas on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, one day before the new kids-focused Universal park opens July 1.

The Preview
Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, visited the new Universal destination with his family ahead of the resort’s official opening. Universal Kids Resort said the family experienced the park’s kid-sized offerings during the preview.
The family was greeted by Poppy, Branch, Guy Diamond, and Delta Dawn from DreamWorks’ TrollsFest. TrollsFest is one of the lands inside the new park, and the official images put those characters into the opening-week preview.
The Park
Universal Kids Resort is Universal Destinations & Experiences’ first theme park built specifically for young kids. The Frisco park is aimed at families with younger children, with kid-sized Universal offerings across the new destination.
The kid-focused setup is built around places for children to laugh, splash, dance, and play across the resort’s lands during a kid-sized Universal visit.
The park has seven lands: DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp, Jurassic World Adventure Camp, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom, Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club, DreamWorks’ TrollsFest, DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar, and the Isle of Curiosity featuring DreamWorks’ Gabby’s Dollhouse.
Opening Day
Universal Kids Resort opens Wednesday, July 1, 2026 in Frisco. The Mahomes preview happened the day before opening, which makes the photos part of the final official push before guests begin entering the park.
