The Universal Kids Resort Hotel is the on-site hotel for Universal’s first theme park built for families with young children, opening July 1, 2026, in Frisco, Texas. It sits right at the park entrance with 300 rooms and family suites, dining, an outdoor pool, and family-friendly amenities. For families with little ones, a room steps from the gates is a real advantage, and here is what Universal has confirmed about it so far.
The rooms
With 300 rooms and family suites in total, Universal has detailed the room lineup. Standard Queen, Deluxe Queen, and Signature Queen rooms each pair a twin-over-full bunk bed with a queen bed, so a family of four or five can spread out without booking two rooms. Family Suites go further, adding a king bed in a separate bedroom for parents who want a door between themselves and the kids at bedtime.
The themed floors
Each guest floor here is themed to a different character and carries its own color, and the floor numbers are easy to spot when you step off the elevator. The Standard Queen rooms can look straight out onto the park, so you see the rides and lands right from the window. It is a small touch, but it makes the walk back to your room feel like part of the visit.
Dining and the Curiosity Café
Curiosity Café is the hotel’s quick-service restaurant, serving guests meals through the day. I went dish by dish through the full Curiosity Café menu separately. Universal has not published full dining hours yet, so I am holding on specific times until it does.

More on-site amenities
Beyond the rooms, Universal has confirmed more on-site amenities. An outdoor pool anchors the family-friendly extras, with a fitness room, a game room, and a full-service bar for the grown-ups rounding out the hotel. Universal has not shared hours or sizing for any of them yet, so I am holding on specifics there too.
What is not confirmed yet
Universal has not published room rates or pool sizing that I can quote. I am not going to guess at those. As Universal releases verified hotel specifics, I will add them here. If you are planning a trip, watch the official site for booking windows and package details before you commit.
Why staying on-site helps at a kid park
With little kids, the walk back to your room is the whole game. When a toddler hits the wall at noon, being a few minutes from a nap instead of a parking lot and a drive saves the afternoon. The hotel sits right at the entrance, so you can head back, reset, and return without burning the day.
