I am thrilled to be on the ground at Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, Texas, before the park welcomes its first guests. Walking into the Curiosity Café this early felt like a genuine treat. Universal Kids Resort opens Wednesday, July 1, 2026. The café is a sit-down counter spot built for families. I came here to see what kids and parents will actually eat, and I could not wait to dig in.
Universal brought me out to Frisco for this hosted media preview event, and I found and photographed the Curiosity Café menu in person. Universal cleared me to share this food coverage.

The first thing I noticed was the color. Bright blue trays, rainbow menu cards, and a glass bakery case greet you at the door. The café serves a breakfast bakery case in the morning, then a full lunch and dinner menu later in the day. Here is what I found.
The bakery case is the morning star

I started at the bakery case, and it pulled me right in. The strawberry rhubarb danish ($4.29) looked golden and fresh. Banana nut and blueberry muffins sit beside it, both $4.29. Cookies fill the lower trays. I saw a s’mores cookie and red velvet cookie at $4.79 each, plus a sugar cookie at $3.79.
There is a vegan chocolate chip cookie too, priced at $3.79. That is a smart touch for families with dietary needs.

The croissant lineup looked the most tempting to me. Plain, cream cheese, and chocolate croissants all run $4.29. A ham and cheese croissant comes in at $5.29 for a heartier bite. I also spotted a margherita pastry ($4.79) and a cinnamon coffee cake ($4.29).
The showstopper is the confetti bundt cake at $5.99. It wears a thick white glaze and rainbow sprinkles, and you can see it up close right here in the case. Kids will point at it. I almost did.

Pizza, salads, and a real kids menu

The pizza here uses an airy crust. Crazy Cheese is the vegetarian base at $10.99. Popping Pepperoni adds cupping pepperoni for the same $10.99. The Short Rib pizza ($12.99) goes bigger with garlic cream, pulled short rib, caramelized onions, balsamic glaze, Calabrian chiles, and arugula.
Salads punch above a typical theme park counter. The Southwest Chicken Salad ($12.99) is gluten sensitive and loaded with corn, avocado, queso fresco, and Fritos. The Ahi Tuna Salad ($14.99) brings seared tuna, wasabi peas, and a miso glaze. I did not expect that range here.
The kids menu is genuinely built for kids. Chicken Tenders run $8.99 with BBQ or ranch. Butter Noodles and Mac and Cheese are $7.99 each, both vegetarian. A Kids Burger is $8.99. Every kids plate can add applesauce, apple slices, carrot sticks, or yogurt on request.
Entrées go further than I expected

The entrée board surprised me most. Penne Rosa ($13.99) pairs grilled chicken with a tomato cream sauce. Fettuccine Carbonara ($12.99) keeps it classic with pancetta and peas. There is a vegan Vegetable Curry ($11.99) served with rice, a tomato cucumber salad, and pita bread.
The Braised Short Rib ($18.99) is the top of the menu. It comes over cheesy Quaker grits with green beans and crispy fried onions. The Curious Bacon Jam Burger ($14.99) stacks a seven ounce Angus patty with bacon jam and American cheese.
For lighter picks, the Chicken Caesar Wrap is $11.99 and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich is $12.99. Dessert closes with a cinnamon bun ($5.49). Drinks come from Coca-Cola Freestyle at $4.99 for a single serve.
What I would tell a family
Curiosity Café earns its spot as a real meal stop, not a snack bar. Plan to hit the bakery case early for the confetti bundt cake. Save the short rib pizza or braised short rib for a sit-down dinner. The kids menu and vegan options mean nobody in your group gets stuck. Getting to walk this café before opening has me genuinely excited for families. When Universal Kids Resort opens Wednesday, July 1, 2026, this is a stop I think parents and kids will love.
