Universal Kids Resort detailed the food at its 10 restaurants on Friday, July 24, 2026. The Frisco, Texas park builds its menus around characters kids already know, then layers in Texas BBQ, Indian, Latin American, and Mexican flavors from the North Texas area.
The culinary team flipped the usual process. It started with what kids love, then built in enough surprise, flavor, and craft to pull the whole family in.
Which character treats stand out?
Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom has the Triple Gooberberry Sunrise, and executive chef Jens Dahlmann calls it a must-try. It arrives in a Goofy Goober souvenir cup, layered with ice cream and goodies. SpongeBob’s Cheesy Press adds a soft pretzel grilled cheese shaped like SpongeBob.

Cakey’s Cupcakes brings Gabby’s Dollhouse sweetness into the park with cupcakes made for little fans. Chocolate, vanilla, and rainbow are the flavors on that menu.
DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar leans on the cat himself. Dahlmann calls out Jack Horner’s Wrap, a flour tortilla filled with meat, cheese, and crunchy tortilla. Because Puss in Boots loves his milk, the treats there include Dulce de Leche FrĂa and Tres Leches Cake.

What can families eat at Universal Kids Resort?
Jurassic World Canteen gives its food a prehistoric presentation. Dinosaur Bites are giant chicken bites served on a potato volcano with lava BBQ sauce and broccoli florets that look like trees. A potato volcano surrounded by broccoli trees is exactly the kind of commitment this park needs.
Other picks at the same counter include the Explorer’s Empanada Dog, a splice between a beef empanada and hot dog. The Campfire Chicken Bowl and the Herbivore Cauliflower Bowl both come with curry sauce and cilantro-lime rice.
These dishes aren’t built around presentation alone. Robert Martinez, director of culinary and executive chef, said freshness and flavor come first, then the team makes the dish fit the story around it.
Food isn’t treated like a pause button on the fun here. Walking through places inspired by SpongeBob SquarePants, Shrek, and Trolls, the food has to look fun enough for a kid to point at it from across the walkway.
Menu development also accounted for allergies and other dietary needs. Universal hasn’t detailed the accommodations for each dish, but Dahlmann said the team wants people to have options they feel good about.
Kid-first thinking shaped where the dining locations sit inside Universal Kids Resort, right down to portions and flavors. Families with young kids don’t move in straight lines, so the food has to fit that rhythm.

The 10 restaurants sit throughout the park, so a snack run rarely means crossing it. Anyone heading to Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, Texas should budget time for the Triple Gooberberry Sunrise, because that souvenir cup is going home with somebody.
