Universal gave its first guests a look inside Universal Kids Resort before the gates open. Nearly 400 children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County toured the park during a special sneak peek, making them among the first to experience Universal’s first theme park built specifically for kids.
The resort opens in Frisco, Texas on July 1. Team Members met the kids and their chaperones at the front entrance and walked them into the park’s seven themed lands, each filled with experiences designed for younger guests.

What is Universal Kids Resort?
It’s Universal’s first park aimed entirely at families with younger children, a different swing than Universal’s thrill-heavy Florida parks. Instead of headliner coasters, the focus is seven themed lands built around play and discovery for the under-10 crowd. Frisco sits just north of Dallas, which puts a major Universal destination in North Texas for the first time.
Dan Cuffe, Vice President and General Manager of Universal Kids Resort, framed the previews as the payoff for years of work. “One of the most rewarding parts of preparing to open Universal Kids Resort has been welcoming children into the park and seeing their reactions firsthand,” he said. “We were thrilled to welcome the Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County and share this special preview as part of our ongoing commitment to the North Texas community.”

Why the Boys & Girls Clubs visit?
The sneak peek ties into Universal Destinations & Experiences’ longstanding partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Universal teams across the company work with local Clubs to put kids first in line for new destinations and attractions, and the Collin County visit followed that pattern ahead of opening day.
When does Universal Kids Resort open?
Universal Kids Resort officially opens July 1. That makes this preview one of the last looks inside before the general public gets in, and it follows other early visits Universal has used to test the experience. Fans tracking the buildout have watched the new park come together in Frisco for months.
Universal hasn’t shared full ride-by-ride details or daily ticket pricing in this announcement, so anyone planning an opening-week trip should check official channels for park hours and admission before booking. If you’re driving in from the Dallas area, July 1 is the first day to actually walk the seven themed lands yourself.
