Knott’s Soak City is replacing its Shore Break slide complex with two new family raft rides in 2027. The Knott’s Berry Farm water park announced Coral Craze and Kelp Kraze on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, timed to National Waterpark Day. ProSlide is building both, and each one lands a first for its region.
Kelp Kraze sits just across the raft conveyor from Coral Craze, so the pair reads as one complex rather than two separate slides. Knott’s says they transform the heart of Soak City.
Coral Craze
Coral Craze is the West Coast’s first triple Family FlyingSAUCER attraction. Rafts hold up to five riders, so a whole family loads in and drops together. The signature FlyingSAUCER element uses steeply banked turns that accelerate rafts through sweeping, gravity-defying maneuvers.
Knott’s pitches the sensation as a world-class ski course, and that comparison is deliberate. ProSlide built the layout around its own skiing heritage.

Kelp Kraze
Kelp Kraze is North America’s first double Family HIVE attraction and the only one on the West Coast. It’s also the longest Family HIVE ride in the United States. Rafts carry five riders through tight turns and spiraling helix elements, designed so the slide feels like it’s revolving around the raft. Riders pick up real G-forces as rafts race along the outer walls.
Here’s the detail I keep coming back to: the walls are translucent. You get panoramic views of the park below while you’re being spun sideways inside a helix. That’s a genuinely odd flex for a water slide, and a great one.
What Knott’s said
“Coral Craze and Kelp Kraze represent the next wave of innovation for Knott’s Soak City,” said Raffi Kaprelyan, park president of Knott’s Berry Farm. “These exciting new attractions combine the thrills our guests crave with the shared experiences families love.”
Steve Avery, senior vice president of business development at ProSlide, framed the project as a strategic collaboration with Six Flags and the Soak City team, and pointed to two high-capacity family attractions opening in 2027.
Knott’s says the opening date and more details will be announced in the months ahead.

Soak City stays open select days through September 7, 2026, so there’s still a good stretch of this season left. Then block a Buena Park day for 2027 once Knott’s posts an opening date. Each raft holds up to five riders, so groups can plan to load together on both slides.
