Universal Studios Japan has opened its 2026 Halloween Horror Nights season with a lineup built around new horror experiences, an expanded Street Zombies story, and a 15th-anniversary show. Halloween Horror Nights began September 11, 2026.
The nighttime program is the horror half of the park’s broader fall celebration. Halloween Horror Nights followed one day later with the scare-focused package.
The attraction titled 残像 is designated R-18.
The attraction titled 残像 is the first R-18 horror attraction in Universal Studios Japan history. The experience requires guests to sign a waiver and purchase a separate dedicated ticket.
The attraction places guests inside a nightmare research facility where isolation and confinement blur the line between hallucination and reality. The attraction requires a dedicated paid ticket and a signed waiver.
Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive runs through December
Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive is scheduled from September 11 through December 27, 2026. Universal says the attraction recreates memorable abandoned-hotel and sanatorium scenes from Resident Evil Requiem, with creatures attacking guests from every direction.
The two headline horror attractions give the event distinct experiences while Street Zombies continues across the park. This year’s Street Zombies presentation has a new story and the largest zombie horde in park history. Newly introduced high school zombies enter the park one after another as the outbreak grows.
Halloween Horror Nights marks 15 years of screams
The anniversary celebration also includes Halloween Horror Nights Academy: 15 Years of Screams. The show brings together HamiKuma and returning figures from the event’s history. Its music includes “Rat-tat-tat,” “Show,” and “SO BAD.”
The full package follows the park’s earlier official Halloween teaser and gives the 15th anniversary a mix of new attractions, a larger street-zombie presence, and a retrospective academy show. Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive remains scheduled through December 27, 2026.
