Sesame Place San Diego, the only theme park on the West Coast based entirely on Sesame Street, is reopening for its 2026 season on Friday, March 27. The park is marking the occasion with a special 4th birthday celebration featuring character appearances, live entertainment, free treats, and festive fun.
4th Birthday Celebration Details
Opening day will feature a lineup of birthday-themed activities, including a Furry Friends Birthday Dance Party where guests can dance and sing alongside their favorite Sesame Street characters. The park will also offer free birthday treats and Sesame Street-themed birthday headbands at the Sunny Day Café starting at 10 a.m. while supplies last.
Additional birthday festivities include a special birthday-themed Storytime at Big Bird’s Nest, character meet and greets with Sesame Street friends in party attire, and birthday shout-outs for guests celebrating their birthday in March.
Spring Schedule and Events
The park will operate daily during Spring Break from March 27 through April 5, then shift to a weekends-only schedule until Memorial Day weekend when daily operations resume.

Elmo’s Springtacular returns on select dates from March 27 through May 22, featuring a spring-themed scavenger hunt, chalk art activities, Spring Storytime, and more. Families can also book Dine with Elmo at the Sunny Day Café on park operating days. A special Easter edition of Dine with Elmo is scheduled for April 4 and 5, featuring the Easter Bunny alongside Sesame Street characters.
Rides, Attractions, and Ticket Deals
The park’s family-friendly attractions will be available from opening day, including rides, the Sesame Street Party Parade, and the interactive Sesame Street Neighborhood. Water rides and attractions will open later in the spring as weather warms.
