Universal Studios Japan is capping its 25th anniversary year with a winter event that stretches well into January. Universal Holiday Wonders: Discover U!!! runs Friday, November 13, 2026 through Sunday, January 17, 2027.
The Universal Food Festival comes back bigger than the park has ever run it, with more menu items and more areas serving them. Snoopy and Elmo drop in for surprise greetings around the holiday food zones.
Light Up the Night: Christmas Celebration is the centerpiece night show, about 30 minutes in Gramercy Park in the New York area. Hello Kitty and the rest of the park characters turn up in winter outfits. Snow falls over the crowd. It plays November 25 through January 11.
Joy of Lights returns after nine years on that same stretch of nights, running about 10 minutes in the same spot. Guests’ messages get projected onto the screen, and the park takes submissions from September 28 to December 14. Selection is by lottery.
Nine years is a long gap for a show built entirely out of things people are too shy to say in person.
Winter decorations go up in Hogsmeade at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, along with a 10-minute castle projection show called Hogwarts Magical Night: Winter Magic. The park is keeping the Hogwarts Castle Walk open through January 17, 2027. The 5th anniversary finale sticker hunt in Super Nintendo World switches to a new glittering Yoshi design, with stickers handed out November 12, 2026 through January 11, 2027.
What does the Holiday Kids Free Pass cost?
Prices for the Holiday Kids Free Pass start at 8,400 yen, and that covers one adult plus one child ages 4 to 11 free. Sales opened September 14, and the pass is good for entry from the event’s opening day through December 30. Buyers need to be living in Japan and upload official ID confirming the child’s age.
