The 2026-27 runDisney season starts with the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, and the medals are the first thing worth a look. This year’s finisher medal collection is built around the destinations runners already know from World Showcase at EPCOT, with Disney stories and characters worked into the designs. Disney calls them “a real vibe.”

Four race weekends run at Walt Disney World across the season, with virtual races filling the gaps in between. Registration dates are listed on the 2026-27 event calendar, and signups go through rundisney.com. The virtual races are the option for anyone who would rather log the miles from home.
What comes with a runDisney race registration?
An on-site race entry gets you a race bib, a themed race shirt, and a finisher medal at the end of it. Park tickets are a separate purchase. If you want to spend the rest of race day in a park, you’ll need a park ticket of your own.
What is a runDisney race weekend actually like?
The courses run through Disney parks before guests arrive, which is the part regulars talk about first. Runners pass landmarks and wind through themed lands with the walkways to themselves, which is a version of the parks almost nobody else sees. An encouraging wave from Mickey Mouse can help propel runners through those final few miles.
Characters aren’t the only thing stationed on the route. Singing choirs, high-energy DJs and other performers are spread along the course.
Costumes bring plenty of energy as well. Tutus, tiaras, super heroes and Mickey ears turn up in volume, and creativity is the only real rule.
The runDisney Health and Fitness Expo works as the central hub for the whole weekend, stocked with running gear and gadgets. Select races add extras on top of the racing, including a post-race party and early morning yoga inside a Disney park.
Then there’s the crowd itself. Runners travel in from across the globe, cheer for people they have never met, and turn the finish line into a group celebration. Plenty of them come back for the friendships as much as the medals.
Where can runners buy runDisney merch?
Every race weekend brings a fresh merchandise collection, from performance gear to keepsakes, and some pieces are sold only at the event. The official runDisney and Brooks collection is the other half of that, with performance running shoes styled around Disney storytelling. New Brooks styles typically arrive at upcoming race weekends.
