Universal Kids Resort just released a new video breaking down three of its seven themed lands, giving families their closest look yet at what the Frisco, Texas park will offer when it opens in 2026.
The video, posted on the resort’s official Instagram account on March 11, 2026, focuses on the three DreamWorks-themed lands: TrollsFest, Shrek’s Swamp, and Puss in Boots Del Mar.

What Is Universal Kids Resort?
Universal Kids Resort is a regional theme park in Frisco, Texas designed specifically for families with young children. It features seven themed lands: DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp, Jurassic World Adventure Camp, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom, Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club, DreamWorks’ TrollsFest, DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar, and the Isle of Curiosity.
“When creating Universal Kids Resort, we leaned into that childlike curiosity and invited play to be our guide,” said Molly Murphy, President of Universal Creative. “Every detail was designed through a child’s eyes, from signs at their height to colors that invite them in.”
TrollsFest
TrollsFest brings the DreamWorks Trolls world to life with King Trollex Techno Dance Party, an indoor interactive experience, and a Trolls-themed amphitheater stage show where kids can lead sound check and learn dance moves. Rhonda’s TrollsFest Express is a family ride through the land.
Shrek’s Swamp
Shrek & Fiona’s Happily Ogre After is the main attraction here, taking families on a ride through the story of how Shrek met Fiona. Shrek built the ride for their triplets, and Donkey helps along the way. The land also includes Swamp Snacks (serving the Shrekzel), Triplets Treasures for merchandise, character meet and greets with Shrek and Fiona, and two interactive play areas: Shrek’s Swamp Rompin’ Stomp and Shrek’s Swamp Splash & Smash.
Puss in Boots Del Mar
Puss in Boots Del Mar rounds out the DreamWorks trio as a coastal adventure land featuring cat-themed experiences for younger guests.
The Full Park
Beyond the three DreamWorks lands, Universal Kids Resort includes Jurassic World Adventure Camp (with Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster, Mr. DNA’s Double Helix Spin, and Pteranodrop), SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom (with Jellyfish Fields Jamboree, Mrs. Puff’s Boating School, Barnacle Bus, and Bobbing Barrels), Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club (with a water battle attraction, Bello Bay Cruise, and Bello Bay Golf Cart Derby), and the Isle of Curiosity.
Universal Kids Resort opens in 2026 in Frisco, Texas. No specific opening date has been announced.
