Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort, a Disney Vacation Club property on the coast of South Carolina, is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026.
The resort first opened in 1996 and sits on 15 acres of private Longview Island, designed to feel like a saltwater fishing lodge with rocking chairs, Spanish moss, and marsh views.

What the Resort Offers
The property features heated pools, bike rentals, and access to Disney’s Beach House, an oceanfront spot with beach access along 12 miles of Atlantic coastline. Guests can also take dolphin cruises, kayak tours, and guided nature tours.
Disney characters including Pluto and Chip ‘n’ Dale make appearances at the resort, and Tide Me Over serves Dole Whips and Mickey Pretzels. Evening activities include campfires with storytelling and s’mores, Goofy Bingo, and Movies Under the Oaks.
Original Cast Members Still Going Strong
Three cast members, Evelyn, Alicia, and Melissa, have been with the resort since opening day in 1996, all celebrating 30 years.
“When they come through the gate and we say, ‘Welcome home,’ they actually feel like they’re at home and not on vacation,” said Evelyn, Housekeeping Manager.

Community and Conservation
The resort supports the local community through partnerships with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. The resort’s naturalist leads programs about local ecosystems, beach renourishment, and wildlife spotting.
