Monsters, costumes and familiar doors
Mike and Sulley appear alongside supporting characters from Monsters, Inc. The artwork gives those familiar faces Halloween costumes and surrounds them with seasonal details.

The doors come from the original movie. They draw on the creative vision behind the 2001 film, including one of its recognizable visual elements.
Snodgrass studied concept artwork from both Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University while developing the designs. Guests can spot shapes and compositions that reflect those earlier artists’ work.

The project took months of collaboration among Walt Disney Imagineering, Pixar Animation Studios and Resort Enhancement at Disneyland Resort. Together, the teams developed a Halloween environment celebrating Monstropolis.
Snodgrass also worked closely with Pixar’s team in Emeryville on the characters’ established look, personality and story. After completing the artwork, the teams brought it into the hotel’s colorful lobby.

These are Pixar Place Hotel’s first Monsters, Inc.-inspired Halloween decorations.

Candy designs and hotel trick-or-treating
The candy-inspired wallpapers feature illustrated Monstropolis treats with names including “Bog Water Taffy,” “Carasmell Chews” and “Sludge Brownies.”

For overnight guests, the seasonal activities extend across all three Hotels of the Disneyland Resort. A trick-or-treat trail takes guests between the hotels on select days in October.
The experience is complimentary.

To participate, overnight guests can sign up at the Front Desk. They’ll receive a wristband, goodie guide and treat bag for the trail.
The Sketch Pad Café also offers a sweet seasonal pastry.
