Spring officially arrived at Walt Disney World on March 20, 2026 — the first day of spring — and @disneyparks marked it with a simple post: “Spring has officially sprung at waltdisneyworld.” It’s a good time to take stock of what’s open, what’s new, and what’s coming across all four parks.

EPCOT: Flower & Garden Festival Through June 1

The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is the defining event of spring at Walt Disney World, running through June 1, 2026. Character topiaries, outdoor food booths (Outdoor Kitchens), Garden Rocks concerts, the butterfly garden, and Spike the Bee’s scavenger hunt are all active. The Eggstravaganza Easter egg hunt map is available for around $11.99.

Spring break crowds are factored into the festival’s run — the Midwest Migration peak runs March 21-29, and Easter Peak runs March 28 through April 12. If you’re visiting during those windows, plan for heavier crowds and book dining reservations early.

Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios: Reopenings to Watch

Two major attractions are slated for Spring 2026 reopenings: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. Both have been down for refurbishment and their return will bring relief to guests who build their days around those rides.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is a different story. It closed March 1 for a full Muppets retheme and won’t reopen until Summer 2026. Hollywood Studios guests will need to plan around its absence through at least late spring.

Grand Floridian: Alice in Wonderland Afternoon Tea

The Alice in Wonderland-themed afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian reopened on March 19, 2026. It’s a seasonal offering and a good pick for guests looking for a more relaxed mid-day experience away from the park crowds. Reservations required.

Spring Break at All Four Parks

Across the resort, daylight saving time has pushed sunsets later, giving guests more evening hours in the parks. Spring break season is the busiest stretch of the year for Walt Disney World — plan accordingly, use Lightning Lane for high-demand attractions, and check wait times before deciding which park to hit each day.
