Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue opens April 15, 2027, at Tokyo Disneyland in Tokyo Disney Resort. The Wreck-It Ralph ride will award points for turning candy creatures called Sugar Bugs back into their original forms.

It’s the world’s first attraction themed to Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Wreck-It Ralph. You’ll enter the candy-themed racing game alongside Ralph, Vanellope, and their friends.
King Candy wants control. Inside Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue, King Candy is plotting to conquer the video-game world. King Candy has transformed the kingdom’s candies into Sugar Bugs programmed to consume it.
Those creatures include gummy candies, lollipops, bubble gum, and ice cream. Riders must restore their original “kawaii,” or cute, forms before they destroy Sugar Rush.
Ride scoring and app photos
Scanners installed in the ride vehicles let riders work together to defend Sugar Rush. Scores depend on factors including the types and number of Sugar Bugs restored.

You’ll see your results on the vehicle’s onboard screens after the adventure.
The results don’t stay onboard. The Tokyo Disney Resort App will also display them for a limited time after riding. Photos captured during the experience will automatically appear in My Photos, where they’ll be available for purchase.
Activities before opening day
The smartphone game, decorations, popcorn, and castle projections are scheduled to begin before the attraction opens.

- January 12, 2027: A smartphone mini-game begins, letting players train to help save Sugar Rush from home. A special version in select Tokyo Disneyland areas will incorporate park scenery.
- February 18: Attraction-inspired decorations and photo opportunities arrive in Tomorrowland.
- March 17, 2027: Popping Station opens overlooking Tomorrowland Plaza, serving sweet-and-tart Sugar-Lime Popcorn inspired by the Sugar Bugs. The flavor will also reach popcorn wagons throughout Tokyo Disneyland and will be exclusive to the park.
- March 18: Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue-inspired projections begin at Cinderella Castle.
Pixel Prism, a new shop next to the attraction, will open alongside the ride. Its design takes inspiration from a digital marketplace, with fiber optic-inspired elements, pixel-patterned flooring, and game-inspired motifs.
A large, illuminated pixel structure will stand at the entrance. Inside, shoppers will find attraction-inspired items and other merchandise, including plush, candy, and toys inspired by the ride’s scanners.

Restaurants across Tokyo Disneyland will also serve special menu items celebrating the attraction’s opening.
Nearby, the new counter-service restaurant Element Express will serve snacks and drinks at Tomorrowland Plaza. The plaza’s design draws on humanity and nature existing in harmony, with structures inspired by fire, water, earth, and wood. Lighting inspired by the Sun and Moon will accompany the area’s nighttime transformation through light and sound.
