# Disney California Adventure Ride Wait Times 2026: Best Rides and When to Ride Them

Spring break 2026 wait time data shows a clear strategy for hitting Disney California Adventure’s biggest rides without burning your whole day in line. Hit Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT at rope drop, save Radiator Springs Racers for evening. Use single rider on both. Those two moves alone cut your wait times roughly in half.

Here’s the breakdown.

## DCA Wait Times: Spring Break 2026 Data

| Ride | Avg Wait | Max Wait | Single Rider |
|——|———-|———-|————–|
| Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT | 102 min | 170 min | Yes |
| Radiator Springs Racers | 100 min | 150 min | Yes |
| Soarin’ Over California | 85 min | 125 min | No |
| Toy Story Midway Mania | 56 min | 125 min | No |
| Incredicoaster | 54 min | 150 min | No |
| WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure | 54 min | 135 min | No |
| Goofy’s Sky School | 48 min | 120 min | No |
| Monsters, Inc. Mike and Sulley to the Rescue | 45 min | 75 min | No |
| Pixar Pal-A-Round (Swinging) | 33 min | 65 min | No |
| Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters | 31 min | 60 min | No |
| Pixar Pal-A-Round (Non-Swinging) | 31 min | 60 min | No |
| The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure | 30 min | 70 min | No |

The top two rides average 100 minutes during spring break. Third place is 15 minutes lower. Everything else is under an hour. Strategy matters most at the top.

## Mission BREAKOUT: Go at Rope Drop

Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT is DCA’s longest line, averaging 102 minutes during spring break with a peak of 170 minutes. The hourly pattern is steep: waits hit 74 minutes at 8 AM and climb to 117 minutes by 7 PM. Rope drop is the move.

Single rider line runs 20 to 30 minutes compared to 100-plus in standby. If splitting up from your group is an option, that’s the fastest path to this ride any time of day.

## Radiator Springs Racers: Wait Until Evening

Radiator Springs Racers averages 100 minutes during spring break, same tier as Mission BREAKOUT, but with the opposite timing pattern. Waits peak at 115 minutes around 11 AM and drop to 68 minutes by 9 PM. This ride rewards patience.

Single rider is available here too. During peak afternoon hours, single rider runs about 20 to 30 minutes while standby sits at 90 to 110 minutes. Evening plus single rider is the combination that makes RSR manageable.

## Soarin’ Over California: The One Without a Workaround

Soarin’ Over California averages 85 minutes during spring break with a max of 125 minutes. It’s the third-hardest wait at DCA, and unlike the top two rides, it has no single rider line.

That makes Lightning Lane worth considering here. There’s no shortcut otherwise, just timing and luck. If Soarin’ is a priority, go early in the day or grab Lightning Lane before it sells out through the Disneyland app.

## The Middle Tier: Manageable Without a Strategy

Toy Story Midway Mania, Incredicoaster, and WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure each average 54 to 56 minutes during spring break. Below them, Goofy’s Sky School sits at 48 minutes and Monsters, Inc. at 45 minutes.

None of them have single rider lines, but 45 to 56 minutes is a wait that fits into a normal park day without rearranging everything. Hit these in the midday window when Mission BREAKOUT and RSR are at their worst.

The bottom of the list, including both Pixar Pal-A-Round versions, Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters, and Little Mermaid, averages 30 to 33 minutes. Walk-on territory on the right day.

## Lightning Lane at DCA

Disney California Adventure uses the Lightning Lane system, purchased through the Disneyland app. Genie+ no longer exists. Lightning Lane lets you book a return time for select attractions and skip the standby queue.

Given the data, the best use of Lightning Lane at DCA during spring break is Soarin’ Over California. It’s the only top-three ride without a single rider line, and timing alone only does so much. Mission BREAKOUT and RSR are better handled through rope drop timing and single rider, which costs nothing.

Check availability early in the morning. Lightning Lane for the most popular attractions sells out by mid-morning on busy days.

## Suggested DCA Itinerary for Spring Break

**Morning (park open through 11 AM):** Head straight to Mission BREAKOUT at rope drop. Either use single rider or join standby while waits are still in the 70-minute range. From there, hit Incredicoaster, WEB SLINGERS, or Toy Story Midway Mania while midday crowds are still building.

**Midday (11 AM to 4 PM):** Worst window for RSR, with waits near 115 minutes. Use this time for Soarin’ via Lightning Lane if you booked it, or work through the middle-tier rides. Monsters, Inc. and Goofy’s Sky School hold up reasonably well in the afternoon.

**Evening (4 PM to close):** RSR waits drop steadily and hit around 68 minutes by 9 PM. Single rider in the evening puts it at 20 to 30 minutes. Plan RSR as the closer.

## Tips

**Single rider saves more time at DCA than at any other park.** Two rides, Mission BREAKOUT and RSR, both offer it. Use it.

**Rope drop is not optional for Mission BREAKOUT.** The wait at 8 AM is 43 minutes shorter than at 7 PM.

**RSR flips the script.** The worst time to ride RSR is 11 AM. The best is 9 PM.

**Book Lightning Lane for Soarin’ early.** It’s the only top-three ride without single rider. Once Lightning Lane sells out, your options are standby or skipping it.

**Check the Disneyland app for live wait times.** If you see RSR dipping below 60 minutes at any point in the evening, that’s the window.

**The bottom six rides average 30 to 33 minutes.** Save them for early afternoon or as fillers between bigger waits.

## FAQ

**What’s the longest wait at Disney California Adventure during spring break?**
Mission BREAKOUT hits 170 minutes at peak. Radiator Springs Racers reaches 150 minutes. Those two are in a different category than everything else.

**Does DCA still have Genie+?**
No. Disney replaced Genie+ with the Lightning Lane system, purchased through the Disneyland app.

**Which DCA rides have single rider lines?**
Two: Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT and Radiator Springs Racers. Both single rider lines run 20 to 30 minutes during spring break versus 100-plus in standby.

**What time does Radiator Springs Racers have the shortest wait?**
Around 9 PM, when standby drops to roughly 68 minutes. Single rider in that window gets you on in 20 to 30 minutes.

**Is Lightning Lane worth it at DCA?**
For Soarin’ Over California, yes. It has no single rider line and no timing trick that cuts the wait dramatically. For Mission BREAKOUT and RSR, single rider is a better value.
