Universal Epic Universe is adding a nighttime spectacular. Universal Orlando announced Universal Celestial Goodnight, a new after-dark show built around dancing fountains, lighting effects and a fireworks finale. It runs nightly beginning Tuesday, July 7.
A park-wide show centered on Celestial Park
The show envelops all of Celestial Park, the green central hub guests walk through first when they enter the park. Universal calls it a way for guests to “top off their day of thrills with a truly EPIC nighttime experience.”

The scale is the headline. Universal says the show uses nearly 600 synchronized light fixtures, more than 350 larger-than-life fountains, and seven million LED lights embedded throughout Celestial Park. Every fixture is choreographed to a high-energy musical score.
Universal’s award-winning entertainment team developed the production. The choreography sweeps across the whole land, from Luna to Apollo, before a fireworks display closes out the night as an epic farewell.
Universal Celestial Goodnight pays tribute to the characters and adventures found within Epic Universe’s portals. It nods to the playful fun of Super Nintendo World, the soaring action of How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk, the magic of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic, and the classic monsters of Dark Universe.

Why a nighttime show matters for Epic Universe
The new show gives Epic Universe something it didn’t have at opening: a dedicated nighttime spectacular. The park welcomed its first guests on May 22, 2025, and quickly became one of the most talked-about theme park openings in years. A nightly after-dark finale is the kind of moment big destination parks lean on to cap the day.
The timing lines up with peak summer travel. A new nighttime show landing in early July gives families one more reason to stay through park close during the busiest stretch of the year. It also hands Universal a fresh headline heading into the back half of the summer season.
Celestial Park already runs daytime fountain shows that move and dance to music, so a nighttime fireworks-and-fountain finale is a natural next step for the land. Universal Celestial Goodnight gives that central hub a marquee moment after dark.
For more on why the park landed the way it did, here’s my take that Epic Universe is a triumph of design.
If you’re planning a July trip, you don’t need to time a specific night. The show runs every evening, so save room in your plan to stay until close and catch the fireworks finale before you head out.
