Disney’s next Storyliving community has a front door, and it’s being built out of the ground it sits on. On August 5, 2026, Disney shared a first look at the entryway for Asteria, the Storyliving by Disney community coming to the Raleigh, North Carolina area, along with The Compass, a running guide to everything taking shape there.
The land handles part of the moment. Topography rises just past the entry before gently falling, which creates a subtle reveal as you come in.
What will the Asteria entryway look like?
Stone from the site itself runs through the design, including metavolcanic rock, quartz, and rhyolite. Those materials will be dry stacked in the regional tradition, the kind of detail that ties a new entrance back to the land it was cut from.
The signature element is a moon gate, an arched gateway that frames the landscape beyond it. Residents and visitors pass through it on the way home. An arch built to frame the view rather than block it is a small move, and it’s the one you’d notice every single day.
Disney calls Asteria a campus of discovery, designed around curiosity, connection, and exploration, and that idea carries past the entry. Landscape, architecture, and shared gathering spaces across the community are being designed to push people outside and into each other’s company.
What is the Second Star Club?
The Second Star Club, announced April 15, 2026, is the social heart of the community, with Imagineer-designed spaces for gathering, creativity, and wellness. Members will be able to take morning yoga outside, learn something from a Disney expert, play a tennis match, or catch their team at the signature restaurant.
Asteria is the newest Storyliving by Disney project, and the entry is only the start of what’s planned. Disney says more details are coming as the community takes shape.
What to know
Asteria is Disney branded and managed, but Disney isn’t the developer or the builder. DMB Development is developing the community, and homes are built and sold by independent third-party builders. Plans can change or be cancelled at any time.
