Universal Orlando Resort said Dark Arts is returning this fall to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The official Discover Universal post ties the return to this year’s celebration of Harry Potter’s 25 Years of Magic, which the park defines as the 25th anniversary of the first Harry Potter film.
It’s two experiences in two parks, on overlapping windows, both on select dates. Universal did not print a year next to those dates.
Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle
Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle runs on select dates Sept. 5–Nov. 1 in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of Adventure.

Universal says to get to Hogsmeade as the sun sets for a spectacle of light and music. Dementors, Death Eaters, and other creatures come out of the dark and swarm Hogwarts castle in “sinister images and fiendish magic.” The show ends with the image of Lord Voldemort summoning his legions onto the castle.
That is a castle light-and-music show in Islands of Adventure.
Death Eaters in Diagon Alley
Death Eaters start earlier. Universal lists select dates Aug. 27–Nov. 1 in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida.

This one is a street encounter, not the castle show. Universal says Death Eaters, “loyal followers of Lord Voldemort,” descend on the streets and that guests can come face-to-face with them.
Aug. 27 is the earliest date Universal lists. The castle show does not start until Sept. 5. Anyone who wants both needs both parks and both windows.
If you are mapping a Studios day around Diagon Alley, start with my Universal Studios Florida one-day itinerary.
25 Years of Magic, merch, and the wand
Universal frames the return as part of Harry Potter’s 25 Years of Magic. The post does not add a separate 25 Years event calendar or a special ticket.
The merch note is short. Universal points guests to Borgin and Burkes in Knockturn Alley for themed apparel, plus artifacts and collectibles in the shop. The writer’s pick is a Lord Voldemort Second Generation Interactive Wand. It may share a phoenix feather core with Harry Potter’s wand, but the bone-like look is a different story. Universal did not give a price, a release date, or say the wand is new for this return.
What Universal did not say
The official post says “this fall” and “this year’s celebration.” It does not print a year next to Sept. 5, Aug. 27, or Nov. 1.
It also does not list the specific select dates, showtimes, or whether either experience needs a separate ticket. It does not mention Halloween Horror Nights. It does not say this is the first return since a prior year.
Plan the visit
Death Eaters can start as soon as Aug. 27. The castle show starts Sept. 5. Both run through Nov. 1, select dates only.
Build the night around sunset if the castle is the reason you are going, then check the park’s entertainment schedule the day you visit. Showtimes are not in this announcement.
Two parks if you want both. Diagon Alley is Universal Studios Florida. Hogwarts castle is Islands of Adventure.
If you are already building a later Orlando trip, I laid out the rest of the seasonal calendar in Universal Orlando Holidays 2026. This announcement covers the Dark Arts experiences this fall.
Borgin and Burkes is the merch stop Universal named. Do not expect a price list from this post. There isn’t one.
The useful split is the calendar. Death Eaters open first, in Studios. The castle show is the later, bigger picture, and it is in the other park.
