Huluween on Disney+ is back for bundle subscribers, and this year’s lineup has some genuinely new stuff in it. There’s a brand-new Marvel’s Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up! special, a second season of Vampirina: Teenage Vampire, and a new witch series set in New Orleans.
Disney+ is also running its Halloween Collection, a curated set of extra movies, series and specials for the season. You can browse the whole Collection by scare level, from “slightly spooky” to “totally terrifying.”
When do the new Huluween shows come out?
Three new titles have firm dates this month. Vampirina: Teenage Vampire returns October 6 on Disney Channel, and the full season streams the next day on Disney+. Coven Academy was scheduled to debut October 1 on Freeform, then stream the next day on Disney+ and Hulu. The documentary Clown Panic arrives on Hulu on October 12.
That special pits Spidey and the Avengers against Hallows’ Eve and her sidekick, Jack O’Lantern. The pair play magical tricks on trick-or-treaters and plan to ruin Halloween forever. Este Haim of HAIM voices Hallows’ Eve, and Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy voices Jack O’Lantern. Stump is also the composer and songwriter on Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends. He wrote two new songs for the special, including “Hallows’ Eve Theme.”
Coven Academy is a 21-chapter series executive produced by Tim Federle. It follows three teenage witches, Briar (Malina Pauli Weissman), Tegan (Ora Duplass) and Sasha (Jordan Leftwich), at an elite magic school.
In Vampirina’s new season, Vee (Kenzi Richardson) heads back to Wilson Hall after accidentally freeing a horde of monsters from the mirror realm. She’s also wrestling with a prophecy that says she and Elijah (Shaun Dixon) can never be together. Jodie Sweetin of Full House guest stars, along with Ava Jean and Hudson Stone of Camp Rock 3.
Clown Panic looks back at the 2016 reports of sinister clowns lurking in woods and threatening schools. It uses first-hand testimony, viral videos and archival footage to trace how a local story became a global panic.
Which Huluween titles have a Haunted Mansion connection?
Muppets Haunted Mansion is back in the lineup. The 2021 special sends the Great Gonzo to spend one daring Halloween night in the Haunted Mansion. It draws inspiration from all four Haunted Mansion attractions at Disney Parks around the world. It was the Muppets’ first-ever Halloween special, and it features three original songs.
Disney’s Haunted Mansion (2023) is also part of Huluween on Disney+.
What classic Halloween movies are streaming?
Hocus Pocus is here, of course. The 1993 comedy stars Disney Legend Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as the Sanderson Sisters. Edward Scissorhands and Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas round out the classic films.
Marvel fans get Werewolf by Night, the 2022 Special Presentation inspired by horror films of the 1930s and 1940s. It was Michael Giacchino’s directorial debut. Monster hunters gather at Bloodstone Temple to honor their late leader, Ulysses, then compete for a powerful relic.
On Hulu, FX’s Alien: Earth is streaming now. It’s set in 2120, when five corporations govern Earth and a hybrid prototype named “Wendy” kicks off a race for immortality.
